I wonder if Michael Houser puts together a successful season next year, would he be considered for the Masterton? You’d have to think so. It’s disappointing the Flyers can only put in one nominee, because Nolan Patrick is the clear runner-up to Oskar Lindblom league wide

It's really hard to pinpoint the value for a star player like Eichel, so I just ignore it all and wait until a trade actually happens with him.

Yea, I'm gonna make like 4/5 armchairs just to see what I think could get return but it's kinda hilarious

I'd love to see the sabres give him a shot, I mean they have to right?

Sounds like sabres wanted Eichel to come back and play and Eichel wanted to get his body right or vise versa...either way they both didn't agree...

Imo, like all awards they shoud just vote and have the top 3 players be the candidates, not have every team nominate a player

true but knowing the NHL they dont really seem to care much for it cause lets be real Lindbolm should have won it last year but they gave it to Ryan as the NHL representatives thought beating Alcohol addiction was better than beating cancer.

Also i dont think he came back on the ice for 2019-2020 season (he was though was traveling with the team at the end of the season and playoffs). Still though the news came out before the end of the season he did beat cancer before the end of the season and everyone expected him to win the award but Ryan got it for getting a hattrick after returning from the addiction program.

Would not be honestly surprised if they give it to Marleau for beating the Howe record as thats how the NHL seems to like to operate these days

This sums it up quite well-

Quoting: yikes

Alcoholism is actually a problem compared to being a backup.

It kills, ruins lives, and so on.

Plus with that hat trick game it was awesome (being there was unreal). Not the goals but the atmosphere and emotions , Ryan’s crying, they show a kid with a sign with a nice message who’s crying and Ryan acknowledging the sign and everyone else just pure emotions in the arena.

Lindblom will win it.
Marleau could win it.
Smith/ Campbell shouldn’t win it.

But that doesn’t take away anything. Both those goalies deserve all the credit in the world.

I don't think it had anything to do with which is a worse problem. Pretty sure the nhl didn't say "well cancer isn't that bad, Lindbolm doesn't need a masterton trophy", because Cancer is horrible and anyone who beats cancer should absolutely win a masterton trophy. But Lindbolm hadn't fully come back and Ryan was easily still deserving of the award. So that's why they gave it to him. Probably, they thought that they could still give Lindbolm the award next season.

That's what I'm thinking. Hopefully they're just taking it easy before the playoffs, but whatever it is, it ain't lookin' good.

I wouldn’t even say Tampa is stumbling into the playoffs. They’re crawling, limbs missing... maybe cut in half?

Unless these new piling up “injuries” are like their “Kuch-Cap Solution” - I don’t know if we’ll see the repeat. They’ll need a major turnaround and some of these guys back. If Hedman gets worse it could be a wrap with McDonagh gone.

They aren't really playing for anything tonight. Just don't get anyone injured and get on to the postseason.

If that's TB, then what would the Jets be called?

Well that is true, but they're giving the Preds more momentum. Hopefully we surprise them when we get back on home ice.

Lots of downtime between tonight and when the Playoffs start, it'll be hard to carry much momentum though a week of no games.

I'd also rather have my team angry than fat and happy going into the Playoffs.

Limping would be the best word. Other than Goodrow, who is for sure out, we really don't know how bad the issues are everyone else is dealing with. It's easy just to say they were rested the past 2 games (1 for Palat), but there's just no telling until they're on the ice again.

Ryan Graves just got a penalty for lightly pushing Hague’s face with one hand.

Edit: And this is after Hague gave Graves a small cross check to the back.
