doubtful LA is willing to do that.

I think it's a win win trade - Hockey fans are nutty, Laine is what he is - if you have that center who can carry the puck up the ice and is a good passer Laine can turn those passes into goals and he can help your power play and he is very very good at those two things - he's not going to be an enforcer or a 200 ft player - My Lambo is OK but you can't tow very much with it whah -

Quite frankly, Laine's value has never been lower. With Turcotte's RFA years still ahead of him, I value them about equally. There's probably bias in there, but Laine still isn't worth Turcotte and a slide of nearly 20 draft slots to me.

If I was in LA's organization I'd say find a top line winger elsewhere. Maybe even with the pick thats being traded away.

I just don’t see LA making that trade, especially flipping their very high 1st round pick for the 1st round Tor pick, which will be around 20-30ish.

I think Turcotte might be potentially good enough that the "we really need a shielding top-6 C in a Laine trade" requirement can be waived, but I'm still antsy about it.

They might not have a choice if they want to keep him though.
