I think Cirelli would be the best, but probably require us to take on a bad contract AND pay more. I really liked that Monahan trade you posted the other day, I think Calgary might look at shopping him to shake things up and get younger so that could reasonably work for both sides. Not really a huge fan of many of the other options though (Hertl is excellent but would be too expensive, Glass would be great but White would be the only intriguing piece for them and I'm not sure they'd want to give up Glass for White, Vilardi is good but LA would want Brannstrom and I think that would be a loss for Ottawa, I like Jost but I'm not sure he's a 2C, especially not yet, Danault will want too much term/aav and I just don't think he's worth that kinda commitment when he doesn't provide much offense, not a big fan of Strome/Granlund/Haula/Wennberg/Kerfoot, Foligno is a LW, I like Patrick and he'd be a good option that likely wouldn't cost too much to take a flier on, Krejci might be a decent budget option if the term is max 2 years, Nuge would be excellent but that's a commitment that we would then have to build around because he'd likely require a 50mil+ contract).
So basically I'd start with Cirelli, Monahan, or Nuge for a vet but all of those require significant investment/commitment of some kind (which the team would have to be ready to take). For young guys I'd look for Patrick or Glass to not sacrifice as much from our pipeline. Krejci is a nice fallback who should be affordable.
