Shouldn't Hill be their future goalie?

I'll say they trade Kuemper before ExD, and protect Hill.

How many teams have no goalies to protect?? Even Dallas is hoping for Bishop to retire/waive his NMC so they can protect Khudobin....

I'm not opposed to Dobby leaving or staying, but honestly Bishop shouldn't return if he isn't 100%. We've seen enough Bishop playing under injury, and that was a sad sight to see.

Not to mention that even if Dobby gets unprotected, I find it unlikely that SEA takes Dobby. I think Dickinson's heading to Seattle.

As for which team might have a hole for a goalie to protect...well Canes comes first to mind, all of their goalie contracts are expiring - only Ned is RFA and I don't know if CAR is ready to trust him that 1G slot quite yet.

There are number of teams that could very well take a goalie in are - BOS, BUF, DET, EDM and COL for example. But naturally not all of the teams are going to be interested in bringing Kuemper in.

I do think that teams will first deal with the expansion draft so they don't have to worry about losing players they just traded for because otherwise, teams will end up having to pay more for the players they want to keep.

Seattle definitely has their work cut out for themselves. Going to be alot harder to do what Vegas accomplished.

Heard an interesting fact on the local broadcast the other night: Jere Lehtonen was the last non-center to win the Selke Trophy (in 2003). If I heard it right.

Vladar loses his waiver exemption next year. Rask will re-sign and Swayman is not going back to the AHL. If they don’t trade him, they lose him. It’s that simple.

Ritchie is heading into arbitration with career-high numbers playing on the second line and top PP unit most of the year. The odds of him playing that role in the future in Boston is slim. The Bruins risk overpaying for a guy without a good fit in the lineup.

Moore is a serviceable defenseman, but Cassidy won’t play him, making him an overpaid backup.

So what is the big deal? Three expendable players and the Bruins get an elite defensive center for the fourth line and a pick that will fall between 34-38. The Bruins desperately need to re-stock the system and a high second-round pick helps. They could very well get two players this year with a first round grade in this scenario. And then they get a veteran anchor for the fourth line, an upgrade to Kuraly in my opinion, who can help develop the likes of Lazar, Frederic, and Studnicka into dominant two-way players

Again, just for context, the second-rounder alone will be 2-6 picks away from a first-rounder. If I had said Vladar, Ritchie, and Moore were worth a first, I think it’s the Yotes fans that would have disagreed (if they had a first this year). All three players are good and Vladar could eventually become an NHL starter and Ritchie could maintain top-six production. But not in Boston. I’ll take the cap relief, a great defensive forward, and pick that will soon become a top-5 player in the Bruins pipeline.

Indeed. Lehtinen's one of my all time favorites.

He was truly a Mark Stone -esque player at his prime.

Just because the bruins have two other goalies doesn’t mean vladar has no value. You have to understand here, it isn’t just, “the bruins could lose vladar.” Rather, it’s, “the bruins could lose vladar, and 31 other teams can bid for his services before that happens.”

We don't need a 4th line center though, we already have Lazar. I don't fully agree Vladar gets claimed if waived. Any team claiming him is basically at minimum committing to him as their back-up for the season. He's still unproven and a team would have to be in am awful so goaltending wise to claim Vladar.
