Man I was thinking the same thing last night!! Clobbered the Habs with a super young D-corps and our young forwards looked so good!

I love the contracts you gave out. Definitely giving everyone what they deserve.

The only thing that puzzled me was the Forsberg signing because we have Gus and Joey plus Mando and Mads in the minors... I wonder if playing him (Even though I know DJ just goes with the best guy) while he's playing well and re-signing him is a way to get Seattle to take him on instead, almost similar to the J-F Berube pick for Vegas. I think people forget how many weird picks there were for Vegas that weren't roster-based, although I could easily see them taking L. Brown, Tierney, or Daccord (I'm assuming Gustavsson is protected).

I REALLY hope this is the lineup we put out next year, with a couple Sokolov appearances to really fire fans up.

https://twitter.com/ByronMBader/status/1390342383154307072?s=19 posting this for absolutely no reason.

A D of Chabot-Zub Sanderson-Brannstrom Mete-Bernard-Docker is good enough to win a Cup in a few years. I really hope Ottawa is willing to convert one of their LD to playing the right side. I would hate to push Mete out because they're too rigid about handedness. One of Brannstrom or Sanderson should play off hand.

Also looking at the forwards, I think they're already close, but next year you're getting growth out of all your young forwards (especially Stützle who is going to break out imo) and supposedly adding a 2C into an already good forward group. If they get close to the level of goaltending they've gotten since hiring Zack Bierk, the Sens are a playoff team.

I can't wait to Captain Tkachuk to get his first taste of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This season has shown exactly why you need multiple goaltending options. I'd rather sign Forsberg and have an extra body than have to worry about Kevin Mandolese playing games due to injuries. It also gives Gus/Daccord an attainable goal. Forsberg can be the backup, but if one of the young guys plays well, they can take his job.

I think Forsberg is a deadline trade. 1 year super ****ing cheap.

Would love to lock up Brady and Drake long term but I doubt they do it. I see 3 year deals on the table for both of them, Brady probably between 6-7M, and Drake between 5-6M. Would also try to lock Norris up long term but again, doubt the player would do that.

As for the team, they look really good lately. Zaitsev has had a great bounce back year, but Chabot still needs a better partner. If they can get that, watch out. Brannstrom and Zub is probably the most underrated 2nd pair in the league, even given the small sample size. JBD could be Chabot's partner but that remains to be seen. Oh and don't forget Sanderson will be joining the team next spring, hopefully for a playoff push.

Can't quite say they'll be a playoff team with Tampa, Toronto, Florida and Boston all better than them and in the same division. I think they will be able to compete with Montreal, as they have this year, and are currently about a year or so ahead of Detroit in their rebuild. Who the hell knows with Buffalo but they might tear things down again. But nonetheless; a very tough division to make the playoffs. I expect them to be in the running come the TDL, and that would be a fairly successful season in my eyes.

This offseason they need to:

A) lock up Brady/Drake and not let them get offer sheeted (Ottawa is a prime target for offer sheets as they might not be able to match signing bonus structures)
B) figure out which goalie they want to protect between Daccord and Gustavsson (i'd go Gus just because of the age and track record, plus SEA might be hesitant to take Daccord after his injury.
C) Find Chabot his long-term partner
D) leverage teams in cap trouble

Going to be a huge few months for this team but I think they have a great U24 core in place with Tkachuk, Chabot, Stutzle, Sanderson, Norris, Batherson, Brannstrom, Formenton, Pinto, White, JBD, Gus/Daccord in the NHL, with Greig, Thomson, Jarventie, Sokolov, Crookshank and Soogard looking good in Belleville and might join the team in a couple of years when ready to contend. Logan Brown still a wildcard in my eyes.

Oh don't forget a top 10 pick this year. This team can be scary good in 2 years.

Sens have played great down the stretch. Excited to see them in the next couple years. Dorion has done a great job with the rebuild. They are also getting a top 10 pick in this year's draft

Also have #1 LHD prospect in hockey and a top-10 pick in 2021 (Wallstedt?)

Lysell has looked promising last few days.
Confident kid. Could seem him going a lot higher than I had originally expected.
MacTavish too.

You should check out that Formenton speed on his goal last night. The guy has elite speed, he can get like at least 20 goals a year from breakaways if he can become an elite finisher

I saw Formention's goal.
Soft hands, cool as cucumber.
The pass to Connor Brown (from Zub maybe?) was also very impressive.

i do not see Brady saying no to 8x8m, Batherson and Norris maybe gets a bridge deal, OTT NEEDS to get rid of zaitzev and should talk to Seattle about taking him for a price, Mete and Branny looking like top 4 Dman right now, Zub is stud so far but so was zaitsev in his first year so caution is warranted here.

So much good young talent. Gustafsson is awesome, batherson is a stud, and Norris is nasty. With some growth from stutzle, brannstrom and Pinto this team found be scary next year.

Crazy how much getting rid of the Stepan, Gudbranson , etc and adding youngsters like Formenton, Pinto, Zub, Brannstrom does to this team.

I dont understand where they’re all going to fit. I think Greig is going to be a top 6 guy. I think at some point those prospects will have to be packaged for 1 really good guy

Ottawa and LA are in the same boat, too many good guys for the limited spots. Both could acquire a really good player.

I mean, they have better players that might be moved due to roster limitations. If I was Ottawa I’d be big game hunting a 1RD. Like you mentioned before, they probably need to move a LD to RD, why not big game hunt an RD? Use one of the LD guys to get them.
