Agree 100%.
Dirtier? Mantha knew what was coming -- he'd whacked Buchnevich THREE SEPARATE TIMES from behind to goad Buchnevvich into turning around -- for which Mantha was penalized, after all. So Mantha can't whine about a smaller, skill player retaliating face-to-face. Is the feckless Department of Player Safety going to have a hearing for Mantha's stickwork? Of course not.
I grew up in the streets of NY in a much earlier time. I learned, among other things:
1. You pay the price, you earn the right.
2. If you start something, you don't get to weasel about how the other guy finishes it.
Suspending Shayne Gostisbehere two games for checking from behind immediately after kissing Wilson's a$$ and giving further discipline to Buchnevich without also punishing Mantha for being 100% at fault for creating an incident in an already highly-charged atmosphere, demonstrates that every single person in the DPS should be fired before the playoffs start. Otherwise, the Stanley Cup could be mayhem.
Lenny, you know what respect I have for your opinion. But this time, you're wrong.
