Anton Forsberg has signed a new contract with the Ottawa Senators.

He’s been solid for them, good deal.

Good for him. Ottawa gets a bit more security going into next year. I wonder if they think they're losing a goalie to Seattle, because If it were me, I'd be betting on Daccord/Gustavsson. Really hope they protect Gustavsson.

Thats where Murray deal makes no sense. They should have suck it up and wait for Daccord/Gus

I think they needed to get someone as a solid starter. Neither Daccord nor Gus looked ready for full time NHL duty let alone starter duty. They should have taken the offer Vegas had out there of giving a 2nd to dump Fleury. I think with an improved D next year Murray can bounce back but I don't think he'll be the guy when the Sens are at their peak.

Great signing for the Sens. He's been solid for them recently. I think he can be a solid 4th string for the Sens next season. Well deserved for Forsberg, he's an important piece for them right now.

Murray would be a beast again if Fleury came to Ottawa.

Signing a solid enough NHL goaltender (ie he is good enough to be in the NHL, but not much more) for under 1 mil is a fine deal. Low risk and all that

But given the glut of goaltenders in the organization I'm surprised Forsberg wanted to sign there. I would think he'd be at pretty big risk to ride the waiver wire again next year.

Murray will presumably be one of their tenders.
