Rangers Tonight VS Caps

Description
Sorry I don't know the Lines of the Ranges very well. The basic idea here is to get Geertsen, Gettinger and Rueschhoff into the lineup. Show them right before the game what Wilson did and tell them to go out and do the exact same thing to Ovi, Backstrom, Carlsson Mantha and any other skilled player on the Caps they can get their hands on. If the league is going to make a joke of it then we will take matters into our own hands. Make it clear that any fines they get the organization will cover and for every Caps player they injure there will be an unofficial bonus from the club. Force the league into taking player safety seriously or their cash cows are going to get hurt. I am not a fan of either team but plays like this are not part of the game. They are egregious intent to injure another defenseless player. It wasn't a hockey play, it wasn't 2 guys going toe to toe with each other in a fight. It was a dirty cowardice play by a gutless player.

I like the idea but I just want to note that a huge part of the problem is that Trouba, Lingren, and Kreider are injured. Kreider could (maybe) be back but Lindgren and Trouba are def out

I'm all for this. Everyone that's saying the rangers don't have anyone big enough to take on wilson is missing the point. I wouldn't even touch wilson. I'd go after every skill guy on the team. When wilson tries to fight you just skate away. Let him watch as his teammates pay for his stupidity.

I am usually one for allowing those with the power to serve justice be allowed to do so. However when they blatantly ignore something so egregious and dangerous and only fine Wilson what equates to a $17.50 fine from someone making minimum wage is their way of throwing salt into the wound. $17.50 is less money than a parking ticket in most cities in North America! It's about the price of a pack of cigarettes, less than the average person pays for a pack of socks or underware. Does that mean that the NHL and DOPS views hockey players livelihood as less valuable than a pack of underware? Seriously the DOPS needs an overhaul to the point that it needs to be an independent organization outside of the NHL's influence.

wilson frequently jumps people, from behind, so your, the skate away part isn't going to cut it.

Lets be honest, the rangers aren't going to do anything about it. There are more than enough goons on WSH to turn it into a blood bath.
Chara, Dillon, Hathaway, Wilson, Mantha, Wilson.. What are you going to do, fight the whole team?
You don't think they will take exception when you go after a player? You don't think they will return the favor.
But go ahead, keep thinking the rangers will do something, they won't.

As a long time Ranger fan, I can say from past experience that you just hit the nail on the head. The Rangers will do NOTHING. They could have done something last night, like go after Wilson when his penalties were over, but instead they skated around with their tales between their legs and decided to simply survive the game. They were leading 3-2 when Wilson did what he did, but afterwards the Caps started to take the body and the Rangers just shriveled up and decided to try to survive. They have no BALLS. Trouba would have fought back, but he is hurt. Lindgren would try to fight back, but the way he fights he would have just got hammered by someone. If Kreider were playing (and awake) he may have done something, and he may not have, you never know with him. Face it Ranger fans (me included)....your team is SOFT as tissue paper and they have a large lack of testosterone among the group. It's been that way since Prust and Rupp were shown the door and it's going to stay that way unfortunately. Management has no interest in fighting back since they are safe in their offices wording harsh messages to post on twitter. This rebuild is more of the same with just younger players. Sickens me.

I don't think teams should look to intentionally injure players. That's not hockey. Wilson defended Vanecek from a guy who was right next to him in the blue paint when Wilson tackled him and then punched him on the shoulder. Strome separated them. Panarin jumped on Wilson's back. Then Wilson and Panarin fought. Whether that was to stick up for Vanecek or Buchnevich, it's over.

I don't think the rangers can play that game or want to play that game against the caps. Something need to happen, but my take is that someone's gonna fight Wilson at the start of the game and maybe once more if that goes well. Geertsen could do that, but what would it shows about rangers leadership? It's a tough game to play but Washington has the better hand in that one. Parros screwed big time. Maybe he will be in the building to watch over the game lol

I agree with all of the sentiments you express here, both at the top and in your longest Comment, with the exception of the last word in your Team Explanation. Tom Wilson isn't a "player"; he's a piece of garbage.

George Parros should be the Director of Player Safety for a peewee league.

Wilson has a career of intentionally trying to injury players. No one can even argue that. There is a whole list of bodies that prove otherwise. Lets not pretend that's not who he is.

Wilson was not protecting Vanecek, he was taking liberties at a defenseless player he had pinned to the ice by his head. So what if Buch was digging for a loose puck that happens literally on every shot on goal at both ends of the ice. If Wilson felt he needed to protect his goalie after that he shouldn't be digging around at the oppositions goalies after a shot. Wilson's intentions were clear, he was out to take someone out of the game permanently if possible. Also your take on a fight is so outrageous that it is ridiculous, Panarin didn't drop his gloves and neither did Wilson. Panarin did jump on him and grab him from behind but again you LITERALLY see this in every game played as well. None of the league's other 600-700 players EVER take getting jumped on from behind by any player to the extreme that Wilson did. In fact when Wilson turned around and saw that it was Panarin who was half his size 99.9% of players in the league would have wrapped him up and not ragdolled him like an idiot!. I assume by your comments here that you think Wilson was defending himself? That is ridiculous though I mean would you ragdoll a 14 year old if he jumped on your back (assuming you are full grown man)? I doubt it cause you know that you are 2 to 3 times the guys size. Wilson is just a nuisance to the league and should be ran out of it like Torres and Avery were. I suppose it would have been OK too if when he ragdolled Panarin he had broken his neck from Panarins face slaming off the ice. Would that have been an acceptable outcome cause that could very easily have been the outcome here. Look at the Steeve Moore - Todd Burtuzzi incident, Burtuzzi jumps Moore from behind slamming his face into the ice almost exactly how Wilson does to Panarin. It ended Moores career and paralyzed him. Would you have been OK with that outcome because Panarin jumped on Wilson for tackling another player and pinning him to the ice? Wilson wasn't hurt and barely even noticed that he was jumped on from behind.
