This is your post and it is as good as a guess as anyone could make at this point.
As I watch the Sabres over the past season, the top talent of the opponents is superior to Buffalo's.
I love your idea of Jeff joining Jack, and you are absolutely correct that Sam can run his own line.
That alone would certainly help to balance the talent difference as Jeff and Jack could be as dynamic as any teams duo other than the oilers.
While they were held scoreless in the last game, the best line over the last dozen games has been Tage, Casey, and Rasmus with 9 goals and 19 pts among them.
Tage in particular has been all over the ice in the last 2 games.
9-9-2 in the last 20 games with Jack, Jake and Zemgus out for all and Linus missing 14 of them (Houser has been really steady), who knows what could have transpired, with them playing in all of the last 20

not the worst idea. completely changing your management team and making the right choices will do wonders. that's if the Pegulas and Adams are willling

Still think trading eichel is the right play, but this is certainly better than trying to add.

I think this model works but I would package Thompson and a pick to help get a good transition winger to help the 2nd line.
Reinhart is great and proved he can drive play but I think he needs someone to take the puck up the ice. And then your top 3 lines are
Skinner eichel cozens
Olofsson Reinhart (transition winger)
Arttu mitts bjork
Maybe we could trade Eakin to the Krakens for a bucket of pucks and try to get Johan back.
Very good job, while not a playoff team yet, it could be close.
I wonder if there is a team who wants to trade a RW for a RHD, what do you think Ristolainen could return?
TBH, I think Samuelsson will be in the line up and wonder boy Kevin will let McCabe walk.
I love the idea of signing Del Zotto, I would rather see Mattias and Jake on the roster.
