There is no way of knowing that Kravtsov is as good as his draft position. The only way that a team is trading a top five pick is if it is for a proven commodity, a proven goal scorer, which he is not. Kravtsov has three points in 16 games. Who is trading that high of a pick for a prospect and the 20th pick in a very thin draft class?

These are dreadful, there is a big dropoff in certainty in this draft, and the 20th pick could easily become a player who with adequate scouting should have gone in the 2nd or 3rd.
Kravtsov looks talented, but does not make up the gap in value as it is unclear what he can produce when handed big minutes and responsibility. Try Top 5 pick for Pick 20 and Kakko perhaps.

If Berniers was available I’d do it. We’d still have Schneider and Robertson in the pipeline. But there’s no way Berniers is available at 5. I think he goes 3rd latest.

That seems kind of immature. Only a child hates another team for no reason cause your a rival. Just cause the Rangers and Devils or Isles are rivals doesn’t mean I hate the other team. Seems sort of ridiculous.

If Hajek is seen as useless by organization, pretty sure other teams will feel the same.

You may not follow prospects closely (maybe you do). But Kravtsov is about as highly rated as they get. So I think the value is there. And many Ranger fans see Kravtsov as eventually passing Kakko on our depth chart.

Look at the Devils defense. I'd think they would need him. Maybe Rykov or Skinner instead.

Just value wise the Sabres would laugh the rangers out of the building for that offer. To grab a first overall pick, you can’t just throw a prospect and a 20th overall at a team. Something major has to go the other way. There are only two pieces that would get the Sabres front office to even meet. Lafreniere, and kakko. Well, obviously fox too but the rangers aren’t trading him.

This would be to add to existing trade ...so 20th overall plus Kravtsov plus d-man for 4th overall pick. (Not dman for 4th).

Hajek doesn’t move the needle though.

I'm not necesserily the best versed on the rangers prospect pool, but his D+2 season in the AHL did not look good in the slightest, and in his 3 games in the NHL in his D+3 year he has 3 points.
You may argue that he is playing down the depth chart, which has some validity, but then if he is that talented, why is he not forcing himself up the depth chart?
