That Bouchard trade might be the biggest fleecing in nhl history. Preds getting forsberg type of fleece job. I’d argue it’s worse than barzal pick for Reinhart at least that was a pick for garbage wasn’t going to select barzal anyway this is giving up a massive piece of the blueline I personally believe will be a Norris candidate a few times threwout his career he’s got the size to help him on the defensive side and unbelievable offensive instincts. Never trade this guy there is no return that would justify not having him for the next decade he’s that good.

    Speaking of unbelievable offensive instincts

That could be said of Jost ultimately

It's hard to figure how he's not more effective

He's yet to piece it together but likely will

Why does malarkey get overstated above all else 🤔

Bouchard hasn't been able to make the Oilers roster yet or play a single NHL minute

lets temper the Norris conversation and worst trade in Oilers history until he shows he can play meaningful minutes in the NHL first

edit: didnt see the NHL stats this year, only AHL, made a mistake

Bouchard has played 12 games this season? Edmonton hasnt had any injuries on the right side and they refuse to play him on the left. He's been good in the games he played he just needs to play. i'd rather either let Barrie walk or trade Bear than trade Bouchard.

my bad, when I pulled up his stats it didnt show NHL, only showed AHL (which he looks like hes tearing up the AHL)'

not saying Oilers would trade Bouchard, but just the comments of Bouch is a Norris winner in the making seems so premature.

Yes, Bouchard could actually be a direct replacement for Barrie and run the Powerplay he's that good. He needs a full year of games then he could get moved up from 3rd pairing.

its a real weird trade framework as well. Jost has finally settled into a 3C role and been very good at it, one of the Avs biggest weaknesses all season. Bouchard as a righty doesnt fit not he Avs. wouldnt crack the top 4 on the Avs and in the pipeline they have Barron and Helleson who are righties too. So right handed puck movers is the last thing Avs need right now

Its a rare neither team really gets what they need trade

Said Norris consideration. With his size and smarts it’s reasonable to look at nurse as a comparable for defensive development then add the points he will be putting up running the pp it’s certainly not unreasonable to see him develop into that conversation. 3-4 years from now

Again, its way to premature to be saying Norris consideration based on the smallest of sample size in one of the weirdest divisions alignment years.
Wait till you see him play against the leagues actual good teams and top stars first before we start having those conversations

Avs decline. No need for Bouchard. Every need for Jost and the way he's developing. Not saying Bouchard won't be good, just isn't something the Avs need.
