There is no point of protecting 4 fwd and 4 D, de haan is meaningless to Chicago, and plus we need to make room for Kalynuk, Mitchell, and Beaudin for next year. Chicago also needs to protect Hagel

As an FYI, if Seattle signs Danault as a free agent and assuming it is done during the exclusive window that they have from July 17 (date teams need to submit protection list) and July 21 (expansion draft), that player becomes the Kraken's selection from that player's former team. So in this case, Danault would end up being the pick from Montreal and the Habs would not lose another player. Sending Drouin to Seattle would simply be a hockey after the fact.
