I think he would be the perfect fit for the oilers and while the avs probably don’t won’t to trade him either, they could risk loosing him to Seattle. He’s big (6’3”, a LW or RW, has proven he can play with skill, only 26 years old, and put up big numbers as a teammate with Connor mcjesus on the errie otters in the ohl - so they already played w each other.
What say you? My trade is prob a overpay, but feel the overpay would take the oil to the next level and would be needed to convince the avs to do it.
Depending on what the actual trade is and how much given up, a trade and sign might be required as Andre becomes a ufa after the 21-22 season.
Leaves about $10.6m to fill out the rest of the bottom 6, dmen and goalie position.
Avs are a cup contender, not a team selling off Top 6 pieces for futures. If you want him, you are giving up Top 6 forward back in Puljujärvi or Yamamoto
Ya I wish the oil would have jumped at the opportunity when the avs got him from Washington a few years ago to be honest.
Lol at “he is skill”. Fair enough.
Wishful thinking as I doubt the avs would leave him unprotected or trade him, but what do you think - would a first and benson be enough of a overpay to entice them?

its not an over payment, it doesnt give them what they need in their cup contending window. Nothing about that offer is enticing
He wont be left unprotected, nor would be traded for futures. You want him, its Top 6 forward for Top 6 forward, anything else falls on deaf ears

If something were to happen with this team that we missed playoffs maybe then he would be traded but he has played really solid for colorado and since they are going for it over the next few years i don't see them giving up their only real secondary scoring for futures. The only way he is moved is for an upgrade on him which i'm not sure colorado could afford.
