Description

Nikita Zadorov needs protecting, Boqvist doesn't. Unites brothers.

Andreas Johnsson is an easy choice for Vegas, given what was left available.

Cal Foote signs the Devils offersheet to join his brother's team. The four year bridge contract takes him to 1 year of RFA before he can leave in free agency. It costs the Devils a 2022 2nd in compensation.

With the fourth pick of the draft the Devils select Beniers after missing out on Power Hughes and Clarke 1-2-3.

In free agency the Devils bring in 1b Goaltender Jaroslav Halak to a 2 year $4AAV deal.

Man you're really into bad defensemen. Losing Johnsson, Boqvist and on top of that getting worse with sub-replacement players in Zadorov and Foote is some creative tanking, I'll give you that!

I like idea. Boqvist has been solid in these last few games but our defense is awful. I really like the Foote OS too. The only thing I really dislike is the Beniers pick. We don't need another center. I rather get Edvinsson or Eklund

I agree on not needing another center, but I think Guenther would be the better choice at this point (over Eklund if youre choosing a forward). I think his skill set fits here better. Either way, one of those two on this team would be really dangerous in a few years

If you were going this route 3mil would probably get you Feete. Somewhere in the high 2s would probably work too but it's more of a gamble. Foote isn't a $4mil dman. He might be in 4 years but I dunno......

On the draft - Would probably prefer Edvinsson (or Guenther if we go forward).
Chicago deal - would rather have Murphy if we can get him. Zadorov won't give all that much more than what we have in pipeline (Bahl, Okhotyuk, etc)
Foote offer sheet - I think we would have to acquire him via trade. I doubt he signs OS. Would be great though.
