Avs decline, no reason to move their 3c in jost for bear who would be pushed down to the 3rd pair

I like bear and he’s a good player the trade doesn’t solve anything for the avs just makes things worse or more risky in the bottom 6. Jost fills a very important role there

That’s fair. I really like Jost - he’s a tremendously valuable player with contributions that don’t often appear in the box scores.

That’s exactly why the avs won’t trade especially now that he is finally coming into his own and has a role. Guy is legit on the pk and solid defensively, a forechecking puck hound and since they moved him to 3c from 4W he has something like 10 points in 16 games, the offense is there, can’t pull the plug on him now after it’s all clicking lately

Bear contributes more value to the team than Barrie..
Barrie gives up more against than he creates offensively.
Barrie also drops McDavids xGF% , Blocks Bouch from PP1, having 2 purely offensive RD is not a recipe for success

Jost's biggest strength is falling down to draw a penalty. But refs don't reward weakness as much in the playoffs. Last playoffs Jost was absolutely abused by Dallas; total non-factor. Going into these playoffs, he's got a lot to prove.
