With the way that smith is playing lately would it be better to protect him over Ritchie?, Ritchie had a good start with good ice time and quality pp time, but the stats he’s putting doesn’t really reflect his overall game, he’s not doing anything flashy he’s slow, he does win board battle, don’t risk too much with the puck but he’s not create too much much of his point are either lucky shots, finishing play or just touching the puck,

I think we do have a great debate here because to me the list would be

Bergy marchy pasta hall (I will resign him), coyle, Debrusk and the last his either smith or Ritchie (Frederic have potential but right now he’s not good enough for a top9 and the 4th line is really good, so the real question is between Ritchie and smith

At the beginning of the season I would have say Ritchie because he’s younger and still have potential to lose 15 pounds (I wish I could see his real BMI) on the other hand smith wasn’t bad but was okay at the beginning but in the last month he’s been really good he’s been finding rythm and bring everything on the ice every night, the cons are that he his on the wrong side of the 30s so I want to know you opinion?

Maybe even protect Frederic but to me the debate is not tho

I know that this team is trying to get younger and everything, but they really only have a small window left while Bergeron + Marchand + Krejci + Rask are still playing at a high level. Once they leave and/or start declining, this team will go through some tough times. Smith helps this team get closer to winning now, so I would keep him.
