Which one is on the dumpster fire of a team?
Goalie A - 3.08 GAA, .908 SV%
Goalie B - 3.09 GAA, .903 SV%
Due to the Smith injury and Holland mis-handling the 3rd goalie / waiver wire thing early in the year, Koskinen was forced to play 12 games in 24 days - a workload that not even the best in the league can handle. Of course his numbers suffered in that span, anybody's would. But with proper rest and practice time such as playing 50% of the games, he's an elite goalie. Like this:
2019-20: .917 sv% - 6th in the league among the 30 goalies that played at least 35 games, tied with Vasilevskiy
2021 to Feb 7: .889 sv% - at this point he'd played 709 minutes, the only other guy over 600 was John Gibson at 603 - not even close
2021 Feb 8 on: .925 sv% - 9th in the league among 60 goalies to play 9 games or more

Russell costs 1.25M next year, you can bury him and just eat most of the costs. Detroit doesn’t need a bottom pairing shot blocker, they’re a dime a dozen in FA.
LOL. Russell is only the
ALL-TIME LEADER in blocked shots per 60, and
2nd ALL-TIME for total blocked shots. He's on track to take over 1st place by the end of this season. But yeah, dime-a-dozen.

What they need a is a legit top 4 guy and good luck trying to sell Russell as one. So yeah, Detroit doesn’t do this.
Good luck getting a legit top-4 guy for Svechnikov + a 6th.
