Scheifele has a good contract and scores, but his 5v5 defense leaves a bit to be desired.

Point and Cirelli are 4.830 and 3.521 respectively. They arent even close to making this team honestly.

As far as Roy, I used only players with at least a $1M cap hit so he is not eligable.

Rielly is border line on this team. He was just slightly ahead of Mackenzie Weager for the last spot.

He is actually having a very good year, but this may also be partly caused by TJ Brodies incredible defensive play to backup Reilly's offensive abilities.

Hintz was very close to making the team.

As I mentioned, Barkov is the "worst contract" on forward with a score of 6.797 GSVA/$1M.. Hintz has a score of 6.444, so he is right there.

Draisaitl has an above average contract value based on my system. He scores in the 80th percentile around the likes of Crosby, David Perron and Brayden Point.

But no.. he is not one of the best contracts by any means..

Not having drilled down into the scores, I'm going to guess is the defense that is dragging him down.

Yes, infact that whole line in Winnipeg drops because of this. His offensive score is 1.7 and his defensive score is -8.8. That defensive score is near the bottom of the league.

For reference the average score for both offense and defense is about 0.3 for both..

To look at other players as examples Verhaeghe has scores of 9.9 and 7.9 and Mackinnon has scores of 10.2 and 10...

Looking at that his defense is wayyy behind, but also his offense seems to be lacking as well..
