Adding some Vets to buding youth

Équipe: 2021-22 Sabres de Buffalo
Date de création initiale: 18 avr. 2021
Publié: 19 avr. 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Traded Olofsson who is an excellent PP specialist but doesn't offer as much as Rakell does 5v5. Rakell on the final year of deal if the Sabres like him enough, they can try and work out an extension before the trade is made official. Ducks get younger at similar position. Seems like a very fair trade to me.

Seems like a downgrade to me for the Ducks to me. I'd rather just resign Rakell TBH. Aside from on the PP, Olofsson doesn't bring much to the table.

What the [profanities] Dahlin bridge... if you offered him that he'd not only demand a trade asap but

He would publicly hold out just so the return would drop ultimately because he would hate the franchise

He'd play extra good against the Sabres in future and flip off mgmt after every goal he scored because of it

Like seriously we're at Lindros Quebec territory at this like point like jfc people this is absolutely absurd

So not only do people here still not see the issues with +/- but they also ignore basic mgmt principles??

    Wtf

    Brutal

Oh I'm sorry... I didn't realize a month of good play equated to huge pay raises for the worst team in the last 10 years... They're playing good now but Dahlin on a bridge is going to happen so is the other deals. Get used to it

Dahlin is still top 50 in terms of D pts/60 in large part because the team around him sucks at scoring he's still roughly an All Star level scorer on the backend

His Corsi Rel % this season is 3.1 which is superb

    1.5 x 2 is irrational malarkey 😑

Dahlin played poorly in the beginning of the season and is finally finding his footing... Signing him to a monster deal is not wise. Get him for 2 more years and then if he keeps improving you pay him top dollar for long term

dahlin had the 2nd most points as a teenage defensemen in the history of the NHL. more than bobby orr, more than ray bourque.

a 2 year bridge deal is probably 4 million a year

    Not this low though obv

Y'all are just using him as an outlet for team struggles

    Nothing could be more counterproductive

Olofsson has two years in the league and is under contract. If Rakell walks you get nothing.. I don't see how this is a downgrade in terms of value.

Neither team should be interested in the Rakell-Olofsson trade. We're looking for help at RW and RD, not just to upgrade (putatively) at LW, and a rebuilding team shouldn't be trading youngsters or draft picks.

The idea that McCabe gets 66.7% more than Dahlin is . . . idiosyncratic. And I'd be shocked if Petr Mrazek took that big a pay cut to sign with Buffalo; I'd bet he gets $4 million on his next contract.

Because if he's not signed by whatever date they decide, they'll just trade Rakell at that point. If he's not going to resign in Anaheim, lord knows he's not going to resign in Buffalo.
