Description

Step 1: Entice SEA to take Burns by giving up Donato (a 2nd too if that's what it takes)
Step 2: Vlasic compliance buyout
Step 3: Make Eichel Trade
Step 4: Sign key free agents:
Hamilton long-term
Granlund for the 3rd line center role with young offensive pop on the wings (if it's not possible to sign him on a 1yr deal, trade him after 1 year to fit Hertl slight pay increase + Ferraro/Kniazhov/Leonard raises),
Armia as a much needed-RW/big-body/pk-er/and to complete a shutdown line with Gamby+Nieto.

Burns, four year of term for Seattle at 8m, is just too much for them to swallow. They are trying to build a good team quickly and 8m can be spent a lot better.

Yea it was GMs and Owners that didn’t want it. And it was something like 27 voted against it. Highly doubt it gets brought up again but who knows how this whole thing has affected their pockets.
