So Rangers fans are fine giving Pettersson 12x7 with 4 round picks but don't want to give up replaceable pieces for Eichel?

Jackets aren’t buying Strome. He is a product of the talent around him. If he plays with high end players his game is great but he doesn’t drive the play. The Jackets still need a player to drive the play and make Laine a more dangerous player. This doesn’t work

I don’t think so.. EP isn’t worth more than 10M and certainly not the 4 picks

I agree but if the Rangers want EP, they would have to offer 12 Mil so the Canucks can't match. Which doesn't make sense because Rangers fans don't want Eichel because he's too "expensive" and would cost "too much"

Doesn’t matter. I wouldn’t do this and I wouldn’t trade for Eichel either.

Giving the 4 picks vs giving Laf, Fox, Kakko, Miller have a massive difference in impact. Taking 4 legit roster players from our roster vs 4 picks we won’t see play for 2-3 years after being drafted. We would give 4 picks for JE in a heartbeat but not our roster players.

My Eichel trade was Kaako, Strome, Schneider, 1st, and 2nd and some Ranger fans said no.

Tbh I don't think the Rangers need Kaako. I didn't really notice him vs the Devils. Strome was solid but is expendable. Schneider is expendable because the Rangers have Fox, Trouba, and Lundkvist on the right side. The picks don't matter to the Rangers

No way will JG be signing any player to an OS...in addition to the exorbitant salary he’ll be paying and the picks he’ll be losing- it will be especially painful when the favor is returned in 2022....when NYR look to be in a cap crunch.

Also...Buch way underpaid at 5M...the player he has become and the numbers he’s putting up...while even being robbed of 1st unit pp time....the comps are scary...he might actually be playing his way off this team because 2022 lots of guys will be due to get paid (incl Fox)...so NYR will prob look to sell high on Buch to extract max value- before they’re in a crunch.

I notice him a lot, but that’s because he’s just playing well. Might not be scoring goals but his play is solid. Between not making mistakes and limited playing time on the 3rd line you should notice him much from where you are sitting. NYR would be idiots to let him go.

Im not even being biased but I didn't really notice him. I noticed him more this game but compared to the past 3 games he didn't make a big impact. I don't really think the Rangers need him and getting a clear upgrade in Eichel would be the better option. That's just my opinion but maybe some Ranger fans see him differently

I can understand you not noticing him. Often I didn’t notice Hughes. Only that game at the beginning of the season I noticed Hughes because he was very dominant. Since I haven’t really noticed him but I’m also not watching his every move like you would be. Players get noticed for really good play and really bad play, solid play goes unnoticed.

Really? Hughes is the player I noticed the most out of everyone. Over the last 4 games, whenever he's on the ice was when the Devils were controlling the puck. He's gotten so many chances vs the Rangers. But that's understandable because you probably didn't pay too much attention to the Devils players

That’s sort of my point. We watch our own players with a different intensity then we watch the opposing teams. Many people said Zibby was garbage last season, clearly it’s not accurate.. people said Strome was made by bread but when you’re watching Strome every game you see the things he does that are great and have nothing to do with Bread. If Hughes makes 4 good plays in a game, others(me) notice 2 of them while you notice all of them. That’s because they don’t always lead to great chances or goals, etc. All I’m trying to explain is that Kakko does a number of things that you may not see on the ice. If you were to rewatch those 4 games and watch every pass Kakko makes, stick handling, etc.. you’d be more impressed with the 19 year old who has played less than 100 games on a 3rd line

I agree with you but watching the Rangers over the last 4 games, I've noticed how good some Rangers players have played. Breadman, Zib, Buch, Strome, Kreider, Fox, Laf etc have all been very good. I didn't look too deep at all the Rangers players but from what I've seen, those players stood out. I didn't really notice Kaako much which doesn't mean he's horrible, but his role on the Rangers doesn't seem too big. In my opinion, I think Kaako is replaceable for the Rangers with his production and role. He doesn't seem like a bad player but he won't I don't see him breaking out in NY. I could be wrong but that's what I think.

Worry about your own team for crying out loud. As much as you would like it "We are NOT selling the farm OR half of the prized cattle" for Jack Hypeall or lil' bullied EP. 3-4 future 1sts are tradable, not all of our young studs, much to your chagrin lol. Igor, Fox and Laf will be dominating shortly, with many more solid followers.

So I'm not allowed to comment on other teams? This is why no one likes dumb Ranger fans. Maybe explain your reasoning like some Ranger fans instead of acting dumb all the time. In realistic Eichel trades, Rangers aren't selling the farm. They're trading replaceable pieces.

Idk how this conversation got to this point but I think that it would be easier to send away four first round picks that will most likely be in the late teens to twenties. Than trade one of Kakko, or Lafrenière and another decent prospect and two more first round picks at least. Not to mention the fact that a lot of Sabres fans say they want a high end center prospect in any Eichel trade and we can't facilitate that, so it's already an uphill battle which means we will probably have to over pay

Me neither. I just commented something about the Rangers and some salty Rangers fans act like its illegal to comment about them. Thank you for the explanation. I think Sabres fans ask for way too much for Eichel. However, If im the Rangers, I rather trade for Eichel rather than pay 12x7 for Pettersson (possibly even more for the Canucks not to match)

And? That means all Ranger fans? Maybe this is why Devil fans have bad reputations? See, I can generalize about an entire group of fans too.

Strome has 44 points in 45 games this season. He had 59 points in 70 games last season. How is he "expendable"? He has good chemistry with the best player on the team. He consistently puts up points and plays good defense. He is a team player. He is well liked in the room. Is Eichel better than him? Of course, but how much better? Give Buffalo Strome, AND Kakko, and Schneider, plus a 1st and 2nd round pick for Eichel? No F ing way. He isn't THAT MUCH better than Strome. I would rather keep Strome, Kakko, and the rest, while saving cap money every day of the week. EVERY DAY.

And? That means all Ranger fans? Maybe this is why Devil fans have bad reputations? See, I can generalize about an entire group of fans too.

You're right, I should have specified that SOME Ranger fans are like this. But this doesn't take away from the fact that SOME Ranger fans don't think or use reasoning
