Description
Tell me what ya think. I’d like to sign a high end LD UFA but there are none. I’d like to trade for one but I’m not sure if one would be made available in the offseason. Hampus Lindholm might be had at the TDL but he might get extended, for example.
I like the DeBrusk trade especially if he does not light it up in the playoffs. Hall basically stole his spot.
Rask can play for another 3 years while Swayman develops in the backup role. He will still play approximately 30 games a season.
I really like Oleksiak because he will help take the physical burden off of Miller and Carlo especially since they’ve had injury issues.

I'm talking about their overall contribution to their teams

    GF/60
    RR - 2.45
    JD - 2.26

    High Danger Scoring Chances/60
    RR - 11.11
    JD - 9.84

    Off Zone Starts/60
    RR - 11.64
    JD - 12.83

    D Zone Starts/60
    RR - 8.26
    JD - 5.68

RR much more complete player and plays a 200 foot game. In 2018, collected 40+ points, finished tied for second on a team that had absolutely no offensive output and finishing dead last in GF in the league.
JD had the support of Krejci as his main pivot, Krejci went on to have a career year in 2018.

Easy for you to pick G/60 when DeBrusk had better linemates and was playing on a better team
2018 - Rakell's linemates were Getzlaf/Perry and Silfverberg/Shore and Aberg/Getzlaf. Keep in mind Getzlaf and Perry were old and way past their prime. Getzlaf didn't even eclipse 50 points, Perry was injured for a third of the season and collected 10 points.
2019 - Rakell mainly played with Henrique and Silfverberg

2018 - DeBrusk played with Heinen and Krejci
    2019 - Krejci and Kuhlman

Ya I use individual stats per 60's, not team stats as I find individual/60 is a better indicator of a player performance. A guy can have great team numbers even though he doesn't have much impact on the play. DeBrusk has bounced around the line-up between the 2nd and 3rd line a lot this year and has been asked to play his off-wing (something he hasn't done before).

Funny you use the excuse that Getz/Perry were old and past their prime, yet Krejci is only a year younger but you didn't say he was old and past his prime.

Heinen - has been a healthy scratch how many times this year?

Kulhman is routinely a healthy scratch for Boston and a fringe NHL

Yet your really going to try and say JDB had better linemates?

Btw, even looking at the numbers you provided, the different is pretty small

When you play a rough and tumble style like the Ducks do, your body wears down a lot. Krejci is a perimeter player, he doesn't play the same style as those guys. When somebody registers a career high in points do you consider them to be past their prime? Krejci hit his peak in 2018. Age can play a factor into production but not always the case.
You wanted numbers since 2018. I'm showing you the linemates he had in those years. Why are you bringing up this year? If you want to talk about this year, RR has played with Steel and Comtois.

You're really going to stand by the fact that JD didn't have better linemates than RR since 2018? LOL stay up and watch a little west coast hockey.

Individually RR had better numbers than JD in /60 despite having ****ter line mates so you're argument doesn't hold up. RR is a more complete player, plays against the opponent's top lines and teams value a player that can play the full 200 foot game. Clearly, JD can't be relied on in the defensive zone. Hence, the trade value of RR is much higher than JD.

DeBrusk has been even ****ter this year which makes his value a lot lower. At least Rakell can register 23 points with the likes of Comtois and Lundestrom, Jones and Getz

Hard to say Individually when I showed you that wasn't the case. Also since 2018 would include this season, no?

Sounds like we'll agree to disagree here because I'm not going to change your mind and your sure as hell not changing mine based on what you've presented so far.

The fact that RR can put up those numbers with the linemates around him says a lot especially in 2018 when JD had his 'breakout' year
As well as playing on a team that has been in the bottom 10 GF in the league in the past 3 years.

Butthurt? not even close lol. ANH fans get so upset when you show that DeBrusk individual per 60's are right there w/ Rakell over the last 3 years. At this point its just funny to see the meltdown (as you've done so here with rapid fire multiple post) that comes with pointing it out. Again we'll agree to disagree and wait and see what Rakell returns when he's finally traded from that dumpster fire of a team.

It's funny to see you unable to differentiate between a meltdown and a debate.

I'm providing facts to you and you're just spewing out **** like ohhh I don't care about the team contribution its only about individual stats. What a bunch of baloney. Of course individual stats matter but you think teams value a player solely on ONE SINGLE good year he provided statistically? Can he play defense? No. Can he relied on in the D-zone? No. Has he regressed since his breakout year? Yes.
At least you know what you're getting with RR, a competent 200 foot player that bring a lot more to the table offensively than JD.

If JDB is so bad defensively why is he 6th in PK TOI among Bruins forwards? The same PK that has the best kill% in the NHL. Talk about spewing **** lol, you don't even know what your talking about.

LOL 6th in PK that's your argument? How many forwards play on the PK? 2. Take 2 units that's four.
He's not even their first, second, third, fourth or even fifth pick to kill penalties!

I think folks need to go look at some /60 numbers for DeBrusk vs Rakell since 2018 before saying Rakell (a ufa after next year) has more value than DeBrusk (an RFA after next year).

Pretty clear to me. When you say has MORE value lol

LOL 6th in PK that's your argument? How many forwards play on the PK? 2. Take 2 units that's four.
He's not even their first, second, third, fourth or even fifth pick to kill penalties!

Well Boston rolls 3 fed duos w/ 2 def pairings...so that means 6 forwards and surprise DeBrusk is top 6 even with missing time this year lol.

I think folks need to go look at some /60 numbers for DeBrusk vs Rakell since 2018 before saying Rakell (a ufa after next year) has more value than DeBrusk (an RFA after next year).

Pretty clear to me. When you say has MORE value lol

I never even said JDB had more value. I said before saying Rakell has more value. When you factor age and team control I'd put them around equal value all things considered.

Rakell doesn't even kill penalties but he's relied on to start in the D-zone more than JD

Wasn't included Bjork as he's not longer w/ the team. With Bjork he's 7th, not 8th.
