I can't see the Jackets offering or Laine accepting a 6yr deal. The most likely path forward is a 1yr bridge at or slightly above is $7.5 million qualifying offer.

I'm an Oilers fan I think he's been pretty overrated. It's cooled down a bit now but he isn't as elite as his reputation. I can't any team paying that much for him. Not many players get that sort of return to begin with. I'm sure teams will make offers but I doubt he gets a return that large.

Also, not sure if EDM makes that trade. Holland said he won't spend assets to clear cap. So take Neal and a first out. Then it's RL and a 5th. I mean both teams could say no there. But there will be starting caliber goalies in FA so why losing a budding prospect. Not to mention I've seen CLB fans saying Korpi has fallen out of favour and wouldn't cost much to acquire at this point. His numbers are worse then Koskis.

You can probably get perfetti + 2nd for Jones (with extension) but no team should want to give Seth Jones a long term deal. He’s a 2nd pairing D at best right now and he’ll want to be paid as a #1

That being said that is an overpayment for Jones, though all the haters on here don’t watch him play they just look at the stats, only advanced stats, which for Jones they suck and don’t tell his actual skill.

There's no point in discussing Jones trades on here, because he's been presented with the Official Jack Johnson Memorial Whipping Boy Status by advanced stats hangers-on and so all you'll get is a lot of "LOL OVURRATID DURR".

The problem is, most of the people on here don’t see things that GMs in real life see. The intangibles, the on ice impacts, the locker room impact, and just sheer performance in clutch situations. Jones is also a right handed shot which is in short supply around the league. Teams pay a premium for players like that.
