I don't see Winnipeg moving Samberg for two years of Dumba and the Jets are better of holding onto Vesalainen.

They'd be better off shipping off their 1st round pick in exchange for directing Seattle to draft a prospect.

Give Seattle the 2021 1st to take DeMelo, keep the young players and free up some cap space.

Just thinking the Jets would be lot better not making the trade. Protect DeMelo (lose one of Harkins and Copp), keep Samberg and have 3m in the cap difference between DeMelo and Dumba.

This is what they should be doing.

Also look at what these wild fans said, it’s hilarious. I get they don’t want to trade dumba and that the wild will just go 4-4-1 but the ask they want for dumba is funny.

Do you think Dumba is an elite Dman or do you think Copp is having a one-off year? Currently 34 points in 44 gp, averaging over 2 shots and 1 hit per game playing 18.5 mins a night

To get Dumba you would have to give up Heinola which would defeat the purpose of trading Copp. Samberg and Copp not enough.

No, Minnesota needs help at center not on D. This trade is close to fair value, Jets do add, but not a whole lot. Heinola is worth more than dumba 1 for 1. Considering Dumba has 2 years left, and is aging. Heinola is already on the cusp of being NHL ready and will be a top 4 dman within 2 years.

Honestly, fair trade for dumba IMO is Copp + Samberg + 2021 1st. Make this trade at the draft and I’m okay with it happening. The 1st is a mid to late first, samberg will be NHL ready by the end of next year, and would be behind Stanley, Heinola and Morrissey in WPG. He’s also a local MN boy, Copp solves a lot of MIN C issues. He can play 2C and is great at both ends of the ice.

That's an interesting trade. Just not sure if Copp would be exactly what Minny is looking for but it could be a possibility. A 3 for 1 with good pieces.

Samberg is underrated IMO. Kid was dominant in NCAA. Once he makes the transition into pro play, he’ll be a good two way guy. Could be a top 4 guy within 3 years for sure. He’s big and is strong on the puck. Reminds me a bit of a Mattias Ekholm. Just not quite as physically big and with less upside.

Copp I feel would fit so well in MIN. He has a lot of untapped offensive potential. His game looks completely different this year in a good way. He’s a lot more offensive minded, while still being an absolute rock in his own end. My #1 choice would be to keep Copp. But the situation with his agent just has me feeling like he’s gone regardless of the way he leaves.

That's tough. Keeping him with your goaltending you are not far away from a serious Cup run with maybe just one or two right moves.

Jets are a lot closer than I think some expect. If they could make 1 or 2 solid moves, they’d be right there. But instead we get to watch our GM take the Dayoff and our coach play vets over the young guys who should be taking their spot. Ah, yes the life of a Jets fan.

I get it. Julien was like that but he was still a good coach, like Maurice. Chevy has recent history with Columbus. Why wouldn't he do a 1st and a 3rd for Savard?

Honestly glad he didn’t do a 1st and a 3rd for Savard. Too expensive. Apparently Chevy was in on Gavrikov from CBJ. Probably would’ve ended up being expensive as CBJ likes gavrikov.

Chevy also said he was in on a few trades that would’ve been considered “big swings” and I wish I knew what that was. In my head I think of a guy like Seth Jones. With the history between WPG and CBJ, I wouldn’t be surprised if they spoke about it. Because Chevy was looking into big deals.

I agree on the Maurice thing. Yes he can be a great coach, but also annoys me with many things he does and makes questionable lineup choices.

While it was too much for Savard I think he should've made that trade, the only piece of real value was the 1st as 3rd and 4th round picks are long shots to ever amount to anything so really a late 1st for a rental dman that brings the defense up to average and a head start on contract negotiations with a RHD Chevy might have interest in in free agency is fine to me, don't like trading 1sts for rentals but this year is the year to do it with the expansion draft on the horizon.

Looking at what Columbus got for Savard in comparison to the Gawanke+2nd trades that I and others on here proposed for Savard I honestly think that Gawanke+2nd would've been a better return for the Jackets.

I'd way rather Chevy have gone that route then these ridiculous overpay for Dumba suggestions that are on here constantly.. Lol

Don't like any of these trades here for the Jets, don't wanna lose Berdin either!
