With Lowry signed and taking up a protection spot pretty well means Copp is as good as gone. He would be a good piece for getting a T4 Dman.

The reports of NSH being interested in Niku always seemed strange to me. I don't think NSH had a spot for him before Carrier emerged this season, and less of one now.

Pitlick has significantly higher upside than Trenin, so that's a no-go. Center is the weakest position in NSH's prospect pool too, so even for a fair return trading Pitlick still would be really unwise for NSH.

They’re all signed through next year. I think they’re set on defense. Things could change if they trade a guy, but I don’t see them adding a borderline guy like Niku when their prospects have shown they can play — they might’ve had some interest before that, but I think that ship has sailed for them.
