If Suter makes it, I can't see Weber not making it.

Difference is Suter is considered one of the best American dmen of all time. I don't think his value comes from his career necessarily because he has had a similar career to Weber's. It's his importance to his country. However, even then, he is a better dman all time than Weber. With injuries and consistency, Suter is far and away a better dman over his career.

Countries don't really matter. Sandis Ozoliņš didn't get any special treatment because he was the best player his country produced.
He wouldn't be the best American defenseman over Chelios, Leetch or Housley.
As for the Weber comparison, Suter actually started to slow down first. They both have multiple years left. Not sure what makes a Suter a better defenseman at all.

Looks good! Not sure about Pavelski though. No individual hardware, no cup, only a couple all star appearances, and could finish his career with under a 1000 points. That's most likely not a hall of fame career.

Also I get not including lots of young guys because we don't know how their careers will turn out, but even if McDavid retired today he'd make the hall. 2 time art ross winner, 1 time hart trophy, 2 time ted lindsay and the 5th highest points per game of all time. He's already a lock

I think marchand has a really good chance at getting in. He’ll probably wind up with 1,000+ games and 1,000+ points, and it could be way north of that. A stanley cup, two world junior golds, a world championship, a World Cup gold, maybe an Olympic medal if they get to go...that’s a solid resume. And it would make everyone’s head explode.

what's he get in for. Most games standing on the ice and not actually playing hockey. Him and his record. He hasn't been a viable player in years. Just holding some other person back selfishly so he can hit a record for standing there and doing nothing but making his team play 5 on 4.
