What does bertuzzi cost

Description
No idea what the cost would be to get bertuzzi, and adding the loui dump no doubt costs even more. Just spit balling ideas here. Dumping loui not only lets the Canucks get betuzzu, but add a decent 3rd line centre as well

I certainly would not want to spend this much. The wings shouldn't move him anyways. This is probably a situation of it not working for either side.

You gotta admit that’s a better team though.

if you give up 3 firsts and 3 2nd for Rickard Rakell, you might have a better team, but its obviously not the right move if you are seriously overpaying.

If Benning drops a penny wrong everyone is calling for his head, this move would literally reignite riots in Vancouver to get the GM out of there.

After trading Mantha I think it's safe to say Bertuzzi stays in Detroit. If Yzerman was to trade Bertuzzi it would probably look a lot like the Mantha trade which was an overpay. So a player pretty close in value and skill and a 1st. Without the cap dumps.

I would never trade with Yzerman. If he called me I would say nice f****** try Steve, I've seen you win too many trades. Even if you thought you got a good deal, you probably didn't lol. He could be offering a 3rd for Roussell and somehow I'd question accepting the trade because he always wins.

Is probably use Kapanen to determine Bertuzzi’s value. Bert has less control/term than Kap but Bert is the superior player and that draft capitol Toronto received was in a superior draft. You’d have obviously time to negotiate or listen to his ask on next contract too so it’s not just a one year rental.

I’m not sure the Mo trade was an overpay. There was an article that said someone talked to another GM and they said they would’ve easily matched Washington’s offer for Mo. If Vrana can round out his game it’ll look a lot better for Detroit.

Vrana had similar stats with less TOI and far less power play time. From what I've read and heard there are quite a few GM's that thought the trade was about even with just Vrana and the 1st was overkill. Plus we no longer have to deal with Mantha to Montreal trades

But you said it was an overpay initially. Sure, most will say that was fair value but there are reports that at least one GM came out and said they’d beat it. I’d say it’s pretty fair as it’s a late first and future second rounder for the difference in Mo to Vrana and taking Panik.

Vrana was also being fed by some of the best playmaking centers and they also tried him on the PP but he wasn’t a good fit based on current personnel. Vrana is also more one dimensional compared to Mo as vast majority of his production comes from the transition.
