Let me start by saying the fit is not great for VGK. Perhaps if you swapped Karlsson with Krebs the value is more even but even then, VGK doesn’t really have any incentive to do this.

That said, I think you’re gonna piss a lot of Wild fans off with this but it would be a coup for the Wild. That Tuch contract is out of this world good and he, unlike Fiala, is on pace for his second 50 pt season. I like the thinking even if it’s pretty one sided.

Side note, I wonder if VGK has interest in Greenway. Greenway for Glass and/or a pick doesn’t sound preposterous at this point.

Wouldn’t that be something. Dumba traded to Vegas for Tuch and Tuch is who the Wild traded to protect Dumba.

Or Tuch. This trade makes zero sense for us. Giving up the first too? Hard pass

That's an interesting idea although I've cooled a bit on Glass. He doesn't play with much pace but he's still a great player. I just worry about his fit with our team since we play much faster now than a few years ago. He would have been great in the Granlund/Nino/Coyle/Zucker days, but with the way Fiala, Kaprizov, and Zucc zip the puck around I think he'd have a hard time adjusting to our system. I'd be a lot more interested in Krebs from Vegas, but it would take more than Greenway to get him.

The feeling I get is that Krebs is taking Glass’s place as prospect number 1. Although it’s very possible that all of this is cap maneuvering, Glass is an NHL player and it’s puzzling why he’s been sent down. He’s got vision, playmaking ability, and is responsible defensively. He’s not the fastest skater but I don’t think that’s as much of a hindrance as we think. Not to mention he’s only 21 and coming off a massive knee injury.

I think one thing to ask is whether Danault will sign short term, I’d give him over 6 on a 1 or 2 year deal but wouldn’t give him term. If you really think he can be signed, then it’s best to go that direction. But if not, it’s best to try and pry a guy like Strome or Glass.

I like Glass, but he plays a slow-paced game and prefers to grind things out in the offensive zone versus making quick plays and I'm not convinced that would mesh well with Kaprizov and especially Fiala. I'm not too terribly concerned about his skating, it's serviceable. I think he's being sent down since Vegas has no cap space, they can't afford to play him

I think the synergy argument could go either way. My biggest thing is that Glass is an upgrade with upside, which is entirely the reason to do it. I really can’t think of a C that could be available that fits in the fast transition game you’re describing, which I would disagree is what the Wild play.

But the heart of the Greenway issue is if you think he’s with the Wild on his next contract. I don’t, so I’m an advocate of moving him now. Even if it’s for futures.

I no longer believe skating pace/speed is the end-all-be-all for NHL players. I am most interested in players who can think the game and make proper decisions at a very fast pace! And, I’ll take a player who is great on his edges any day over a player who only has great A to B speed.
So, based on reports above, I would definitely be interested in Glass.
What would a trade for Glass potentially look like for the Wild?

I’m currently thinking about how Glass saucered a puck to , who promptly buried it, from the blue line against the Wild. I’m not worried about his puck moving skills. If I were in the Knights situation, I would not move a 21 yo C with size and playmaking ability. I would put him in the freakin lineup.

A deal built around Greenway is probably the best solution. Maybe Greenway and Khovanov for Glass and a pick?
