I just don't get how someone spends their entire life dreaming of being a pro hickey player, then turns down a second chance, either because of less $$$ or having to move to Canada/Qc.
Clearly he's in pro hockey for the wrong reasons.

I'm guessing he would rather sit at home and collect on his current contract rather than make significantly less playing elsewhere.

Career ending move if you ask me.

cause he'll make more money while sitting at home. If the habs were super interested I'm sure they will be when he gets bought out in the offseason too

well yea he makes like $3M more sitting on the couch. Except now he's told everyone he'd prefer to get paid then to be playing playoff hockey. I don't know. It doesn't look good on him, and I'm sure Bergy won't go asking to sign him this offseason.

TBH I would fire MB just for making the offer if true! What does that say about Montreal and Molson if they are willing to give a contract out to a known POS racist like DeAngelo!

He didn't want to terminate his contract. He waits til the end of the year, and he gets bought out, and still gets paid.

If this is true, MB is the biggest hypocrite ive ever seen.

MB drove players who were not CHaracter guys out of town so fast their head spun. NOW he goes out and attempts to get Deangelo????

Subban was such a distraction but hey why not take a chance on Deangelo???

It didnt work out, so no love lost but i would have been absolutely furious if he went out got this clear cut locker room cancer.

It's probably BS anyway.

Dreger also reported there was A TON OF INTEREST FOR A TRADE after he was sent home by NYR.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Getting rid of PK because he's bad for the locker room, and then getting this guy would have been a farce.

It’s all about money and believes there will be more interest In the offseason

Probably didn’t want to play for Montreal that bad and he’s taking his chances
