Chevy missed his big swing

Description
So Chevy spoke about how he was looking to make a big swing at this TDL, he missed and fell back on Benn. Now this is hard to watch, because we saw fleury and Hutton go for so cheap, same with Gudbranson. I wish Chevy could have made the fleury deal. But I’m also curious to know if he even called NJ about Murray.

Anyways onto the post. With Chevy striking out, I think he’ll go for his big swing again this summer. Whether that’s at the draft, or in FA is to be seen. I think if it’s in FA he’s going after Hamilton. If it’s at the draft, he’ll revisit the trades he tried to make at the deadline. Who do you think Chevy was going to swing big for? He said he looked at players with term, as well as short term options.

Here’s how the squad looks with a Hamilton addition.

P.S. I don’t think CAR lets dougie walk, but it’s okay I can dream.

Yeah, i'm a little 50/50 on this. Poolman hasn't been amazing, but I think Jomo still could and should be playing better

      Quoting: bnormie46
He needs a proper partner as he had with Trouba, Poolman doesn't help him

Honestly IMO all jmo needs to get back to form is a steady partner who’s capable of that spot. This is all he needs.

Trading a pick so Seattle would take DeMelo is one of the dumber things I’ve seen on this website

One of Chevy's dumber moves was trading for and signing DeMelo.

I think you and I are the only ones who see demelo for what he is. I will admit I had faith in the contract early as I liked what limited games we saw demelo in. But now I’m not a fan of it.

I’d pay seattle a 3rd and beaulieu anyday to take demelo. Actually they’re taking two of our problems off of our hands LOL.

He's a fancy stat darling and the vast majority of fans on the web live and die by analytics so even though he's obviously a 3rd pair dman at best he escapes criticism and the guys who aren't fancy stat favorites like Forbort and Stanley are the ones who are critiqued constantly and considered to be the weak link.

Think Carolina would've trade Fleury straight up for DeMelo?

DeMelo sucked ass again tonight, he made a weak play that eventually led to the Connor Brown goal and while Helly screwed up big time on that 3rd goal of course DeMelo was flat footed and couldn't keep up with Dadonov who smacked it in, if he had anticipated better and stayed tighter with Dadonov maybe he could've checked him and prevented the goal, he's so slow though, looks like he's skating in cement!

Yeah he had a few rough plays this game. Doubt CAR makes that, but hell I would’ve given them what Anaheim did and scratched demelo.

The upside of this TDL is that it didn't make a side-deal with Seattle more expensive, as the Jets don't have to expose several valuable assets. The other upside is that in late-May the Farmer's Almanac says there will be above average temperatures and everyone can enjoy the outdoors without worrying about when the Jets' second round playoff games start.

Just watching the Kenny & Renny post game show, Wiebe is sounding like a management apologist.

Not new, but we know live audiences aren't for him. He gets too worked up answering questions that challenge his views.

He needs to be nice to maintain access beyond the bare minimum. I guess he saw how the Free Press has been shut out since Wiecek displeased Jets ownership in 2016/17
