I love Highmore and he is such a hard worker, but Gaudette's ceiling is much higher

Just so you know, that wasn't just a bad pun. I've liked Highmore for a while, and I thought he'd be a legitimate 3rd liner for the Hawks. Sadly, a shoulder injury in 2018 derailed him.

Bad trade for Vancouver imo. At least try to do a good trade Benning.

Highmore is 25 and Gaudette is 24 so a one year difference

In hindsight Highmore looked just as good as Gaudette I heard, but this just makes less sense at why Van did it at the time.

Well well well. Gaudette is on waivers, and Highmore is still on VAN's roster (even though he hasn't exactly performed well, either). I still think VAN should've gotten more for Gaudette at the time, but this is turning out to be a deal with minimal impact.
