When Bruins and Devils were discussing a Palmieri deal at the 2020 deadline, Bjork was the main piece the Devils were asking for (+pick and prospect).
Bruins wanted to send Heinen and add Backes, which is why deal never happened.

(I believe....Devils wanted Bjork, Axel Andersson and 1st. Bruins wanted to send Heinen, Backes, Andersson and 1st. Devils declined, Boston went elsewhere)

Some GMs could see Bjork in bigger role.
Will be interesting to see what he does in Buffalo.

(could always flip him to NJD since Fitzy is known to have been high on Bjork)

This trade STINKS for Buffalo. i rather have Lazar, cheaper and grittier, good PK and face off guy. If Buffalo retained half they should of at least gotten another pick back. Hall and Lazar for Bjork and 2 2nds. Trade just has no real value to it for Buffalo

Why would anyone care what Melody Martin thinks of this trade. Granato also coached Bjork in the USDP, so I guess they're banking on something there and maybe that means they're thinking of Granato as more than a interim coach

Last I heard is that he may be under contract with Pitt still or have a no compete clause, so he cant get hired anywhere till July

I thought there was a fair chance we would not get a first, the market is the market and all that. However seeing that at least 3 other players returned firsts, it looks like a pretty big fail. I guess the big question is with bjork, the first thing i saw was from a boston beat writer who said bjork is garbage- too soft for 4th line, not talented enough for 3rd, and he makes 1.6m per for 2 more years. I just saw somebody from new jersey suggesting that their gm loves him, and that he might be something more. Granato has experience with him, which is fine, i guess, if granato as the interim first time nhl coach gets a say in player moves.

I was wondering if the holdup was the non-interference from owners clause he was asking for. Which would be great, especially if there is any kind of major overhaul in the works.

Lets hope either Seattle takes Bjork maybe or we can possibly flip or he turns into a 35-40 point player and i can be ok with that. I was just hoping at least another 2nd round pick or another or prospect. Just feels like buffalo got fleeced
