Who?

It's so strange watching the Caps this year and trying to figure out what we need at the deadline. Sheary and Sprong seem to be the offensive jolt we thought we'd need to go after at the deadline, and we certainly don't need any more defenseman. The fourth line of Hagelin-Dowd-Hathaway has been so good for us that it's hard to see Laviolette be okay with breaking that up, even if it makes sense contract wise. I really think all we need besides goaltending is to unlock 2018 Kuznetsov

Yeah. Those three are all doing their jobs. There's an open roster spot now. Two if they demote Samsonov, nothing personal but he's waiver exempt. They could rent a goalie to have one more option and they could maybe rent a faceoff specialist, since they're outside of the top 20 teams in faceoff percentage, and having the puck more might help them give up fewer shots. Anaheim has Grant, who could be sort of cheap, maybe, and then they probably sign him back. Columbus has Jenner who would be expensive, and might take a third team retaining a year's salary to fit. Even in 2018, Kuznetsov didn't win faceoffs.
