They also wouldn't want to buyout Weber as his contract is also "buyout proof" (though not as nasty as Price). That buyout really bites in years 3, 4, 5, with a cap hit of $7.7 million for each of those three years, you won't have any money to sign RFAs

Weber (backdiving contract)
2021-22 $2.7 million
2022-23 $5.7
2023-24 $7.7
2024-25 $7.7
2025-26 $7.7
2026-2031 $0.8 each year

Price (bonus laden contract)
2021-22 $9.1 million
2022-23 $10.1
2023-24 $9.1
2024-25 $9.1
2025-26 $9.1
2026-2031 $0.6 each year

I wouldn’t mind a Tatar trade, I feel like he had some chemistry with Draisaitl on a line playing for Team Europe at the World Cup, but I feel like a trade is not what it’ll look like, more like a 2nd + roster player to balance cap, maybe adding a 5th/6th But i don’t know if Montreal is interested in trading w a divisional rival

Too funny. The guy who created this should be required to follow up and answer for his crimes

You should see the cap recapture penalty for Nashville if Weber retires the year before his contract expires. They will probably have to change that rule. I know they did tweak the retirement recapture after Luongo retired but I can't remember what it was.

Other than not needing him at all and Armia being in covid recovery, I guess he'd be meh.

It doesn't make a material change on the Weber recapture (for Nashville) unless he retires after the 2022-23 season. Then the pain for Nashville wouldn't be as sharp as before, it just lasts longer. Montreal's share is tiny (and disappears after 2022-23) and doesn't change from the old rule to new rule.

There's zero chance wild are trading their 1st round pick

Wild can just sign phillip d in the off-season. This is a heck no from Minnesota wild

Oilers decline to steep of a price as the 22 draft is much deeper then this yr draft. Oilers aren’t cup contenders this yr so no need to move early rd picks which we need as we don’t have many picks this yr.

Armia is a great two way hockey player, he's better then anyone in our bottom six and Wheeler is clearly in decline, adding Armia would be a good move, that is if he's healthy enough obviously.
