Jarmo has been making out like a bandit this deadline. Absolutely ridiculous that he got 2 1sts, a 3rd, and a 4th for Foligno and Savard as rentals.
This is way too much for the Leafs to give up for Foligno.
not really, folingo brings grit, skill, leadership, can play LW/C/RW and for a very late 1st who the hell cares. Might as well be an early 2nd at this point. Plus remember his production is low as columbus really aint known for offense. Would not be surprised if he ends up going on a point streak with us on arrival
not really, our 2021 1st round pick is gonna be a very late 1st which basically makes it the equivalent to an early 2nd so not really an overpay at all especially when u consider what folingo brings both on and off the ice.
Many upcoming 1st round picks have played zero hockey games in 18 months.
Many upcoming 2nd round picks have played zero hockey games in 18 months.
Many upcoming 3rd round picks have played zero hockey games in 18 months.
Many upcoming 4th round picks have played zero hockey games in 18 months.
Many upcoming 6th round picks have played zero hockey games in 18 months.
Many upcoming 7th round picks have played zero hockey games in 18 months.
Outside of the top 10 overall ... this draft is going to be a complete gong show.
Different teams will have the exact same player ranked 30th / 90th / 180th.
And I'd probably take a late 1st over Romanov + Caulfield to be honest.
Their both gonna end up on waivers in a couple years like Mete + Juulsen.
Which is kinda wild since they were both top-4 defensemen at 18.
Not sure why you have to troll, but Sandin and Liljegren are both multiple years after their draft class and have played multiple seasons pro and neither 100% have looked like they will be full time NHLers
I just don't think Foligno is worth a 1st round pick even in a weaker draft class in 2021
Value is subjective. The Leafs absolutely NEED to make a deep playoff run. An overpayment without context, but the Leafs can't lose in the first round anymore. It go time.
What? haha. Leafs nation is gonna have to disagree with you on that one.
Liljegren is 22 and still doesn't look anywhere close to NHL ready. We could argue about Sandin because of his age, but he's in the same boat as Liljegren.
It's incredibly expensive for Toronto but the goal is the Stanley Cup and Foligno is a great third line winger who could stabilize a very effective shutdown line.
To be honest I'm happier giving up the first this year than one of Toronto's prospects.

It's a lot.
This had better be a home run
Dubas got bent over a barrel. Plain and simple. This is not a good trade. Hope I’m wrong.

Yes really... foligno sucks. Maybe we get lucky and he starts playing better but getting lucky does not make this a good trade.

Liljegren is perfectly ready for the nhl but the team is going with more veterans. No injuries on the right side this year do no reason to bring him up.
Lilly has been holding the marlies together and playing amazing, I have no issues with him jumping in the lineup.

Guess that's fair, but he looked awful last season. I'd rather take a 1st round pick over a 22 YO defender that isn't playing NHL games, but to each their own

He looked good last season. Shutting down cycles and was great at separating guys from the puck. Little bit of spurgeon peaking through. Now he’s working on his offensive game again.
But like I said it’s a vet thing this year. We have him to jump in if needed though.
