I’ve gotta think he’s available for a top 4 D rather than some picks (even if that 2021 2nd is almost a 1st). I think Patrick is a 3C but could become a 2C at his peak, but I’m not sure the Sens are the team that gets him there.

Not much pressure playing in Ottawa. Also a lot of young kids his age, could be exactly what he needs.

I don’t disagree but I give you Logan Brown as a counter point. And I’ve got to think the expectations rise considerably next year.

And I also see Pinto in that 3C role next year TBH.

Logan Brown’s issue is his skating. He doesn’t have the pace for the NHL. I don’t doubt his offensive talent tho, can probably put up points but be even worse defensively because he can’t hang with anyone.

If they trade Tierney and move White to wing, there’s a spot open. Norris, Patrick and Pinto as the top 3Cs.

      (Adding the Brown comment here)
I agree the skating is an issue but with the right line mates you can mute that. Not being able to use that talent is a bit of a waste, Strome isn’t the greatest skater either but he’s got similar offensive talents and is a 50 pt guy.

I didn’t know White played wing but that makes sense. It would undoubtedly be a good move in that case. But again, I think the rub is that PHI wants help now rather than futures. I’m a believer in what they’ve got, they’ve just had horrid luck this year.

we could do Zub for Patrick but not sure Ottawa wants to do that and take that risk

I don’t think either side wants to take that risk. Zub has potential for sure but PHI believes in Patrick from what I’ve heard. He’s played a season without migraine issues now so it’s all about getting back to normal, which I would put money on.

Every team should be asking what PHI wants for Patrick though.

Patrick is a player a contender takes a waiver on, like the Avs did with Nuke. Sens should focus on drafting real talent.

That doesn’t make sense. The Sens have a lot of picks and prospects and can afford to take on a player like that. If he works out and becomes a top 6 centre, we are in good shape
