That defense isn't gonna cut it.

Idk what Sabres fans see in William Borgen, dude has 8 NHL games behind his belt, ever, and yet many Sabres fans see him as a significant part of their future.

    Am I missing something?

You are missing severe asset mismanagement. By botterill and then krueger

They amassed so many RHD and never moved anyone.

He will be a solid, if unspectacular 2nd pairing dman

I would put him in third pair with Bryson. Borgen skates well, plays defensive and plays a physical game.

I would like to resign McCabe rather than nemeth. I think LHD is set with McCabe, dahlin McCabe and Bryson with Samuelsson Johnson for the future.
RHD honestly wouldn't mind sending Miller somewhere and trying to resign Montour. Borgen Montour and joki is a good set. Might need to sign a depth man cause there isn't a lot of RHD coming up. Laaksonen should be a fine 3rd pair at least when he is ready but that's probably another year.
I love the 3rd line. And honestly depending on arttus development maybe he can slide up to the 2nd line.
I would like to have lines something like
    Skinner eichel cozens
Arttu Reinhart (find top 6 guy)
    Thompson mitts oolofsson
    Asplund Lazar girgensons

I'm choosing to think okposo can still play a little bit, evidenced by his spike in production after not playing with eakin

Also because I don't think they buy him out

    Quite controversial roster.

    - I liked the line: Asplund - Mitts - Thompson, they complement each other.

    - Okposo is in the top 6, I don’t know, of course he is gaining a lot of points now, but whether he can be as good at a distance, I’m not sure.

    - Defense looks a little weird too

Also has never been able to put up even pretty good point totals for his age at any level ever I mean he'd better be incredibly good defensively like wowzers

9 total goals in 5 seasons since age 20

I'd say the d core otherwise is actually pretty nifty

Not everyone needs to score goals to be effective.

Also, it's unrealistic to think you can fix everything in one offseason

Like others have said- he isnt some kid prospect, hes a rhd who is solid in his own zone, something we need more of. The previous gm had 5 rhd on the roster (bogosian, ristolainen, montour, miller, and jokiharju) which blocked borgen (and pilut for that matter). By all accounts, borgen was ready to come up last year but was blocked by (im gonna say some inferior) d in front of him, and these others were not going to be benched so borgen could play. I get the skepticism, my guess is the sabres protect 7-3-1 and lose him over miller in expansion.
