COL isn’t doing that for a number of reasons. If they wanted Ulmark they wouldn’t have made the JoJo trade first, it also means they would have to make ANOTHER goalie trade to be XD compliant, and no way no how is a rental goalie worth that package. That is an easy decline.

They can sign Johansson to the league minimum and they are compliant. Or they can sign ullmark and be compliant. Or they could sign grubauer and be compliant.

The package is not much and recent history has shown you can really use 2 goalies for a cup run and that was before covid

So a 2nd 5th and better goalie albeit hurt isn’t much for a guy that’s going to play 3 maybe 4 games? Maybe the definition of not much is different for BUF fans but the odds of the Avs doing that trade are as good as BUF odds are of making the playoffs. Hard no, especially when guys like Bernier or Reimer can be had for less than that ridiculous price. Seriously such a bad trade.

Francouz has better career save percentage and goals against(.923 and 2.40) he was KHL goalie of the year, yeah he’s better than Ulmark. Ulmark is the definition of average a career .912 and 2.78 gaa, for comparison Reimer .913 and 2.79, Bernier 9.12 2.77 I don’t see any Carolina or DET fans out there suggesting either of those guys are worth that package, a few DET guys trying to engineer steels but that is just a bad trade proposal.

Buffalo is 1-18-3 this year when Ullmark is not in net. Colorado is a cup contender without francouz.

Ulmark 8-6-3 definition of average, BUF isn’t as bad as their record says you know it I know it, if Ulmark were so special you’d be banging the table for the Sabres to re-sign him not ship him off to a contender to be a back up. But the real truth is we both know is that it is a massive overpay and there is no way the Avs would even entertain it.

I do want the sabres to resign him. I am unsure if he wants to resign with them. If you look at my teams I resign him often and other times I don't.

Yeah because 1-18-3 didn’t have anything to do with JoJo, Hutton and every other goalie sucking worse than a $5 hooker. But yeah you roll Ulmark being a league average goalie that nobody is going to over pay for into a moral victory, but I guess BUF fans will take any win, it doesn’t the fact COL isn’t doing the trade, it’s an over pay, and Ulmark is an average goalie.
