TDL-JT Miller Value

Créé par: MJOHNSON1201

Description
What is the Value of JT Miller for the Nucks? This is an idea I have thought about. JT Miller looked very comfortable in the C role and seems to have a nice FO% which would give Min some more depth down the Middle

Min-- gets JT Miller (and plays him at Center) and a 2021 3rd Round Pick

Van --gets to NHL roster players in Marcus Johansson and Nico Sturm (cap seems to work out). Connor Dewar a LW middle 6 Prospect with a scoring touch and the higher of Min 2021 Firsts. Johansson will come off the books after this year and give Van some more Cap space for next year.

Min should still have Cap Space next year for resigning Fiala, Kaprizov, Ek, and Hartman after Bonino, Bjustad, Dubynk, Cole, a Rask buyout, and either Dumba, Soucy, or Talbot (to Seattle) come off the books.

A downside for Min would be not a lot of available cap for injuries down the stretch..

Maybe another pick is involved?? Thanks

I’m not sure anybody from Vancouver is going to be moving before the deadline regardless.

As for the deal, Miller may be effective but he’d be more cap nuisance than anything. If it were to work, Rask would have to go the other way and a 1st would not be. Just not a great fit.

Guerin isn't trading a 1st round pick, or any prospect

Wild aren't trading for, & adding a player like JT Miller whose not a full time c, whose a lefty shot, & counts for 5mil ot more against cap

Guerin has made it clear he's not adding. Wild aren't going to add on to their mess with expansion

This is just a bad deal for wild. You are giving up 2 good young players & 1st round pick for nl reason

Wild don't need anymore players who don't play c full-time

Yeah not a chance unless boldy is coming back we have zero appetite to move miller, would need a overpayment to even start this conversation

Look, I get you guys don't want to move Miller, but we don't need to be stupid about it.

Boldy is arguably a top 10 prospect league wide, and he's less than 24 hours from making his pro debut. Let's not act like Miller has that kind of value.

He asked what the value was and I gave him an answer. The Canucks aren't trading Miller for a middle to late 1st and a bunch of junk

He's a point per game forward who kills penalties and has term. Make a serious offer instead of trying to pass off a bunch of junk as a good return

I didn't make the offer, and I don't believe Miller is a fit, but please do show me the last time a top 10 blue chip prospect was traded, and let me know what he was traded for. I promise you, if for some reason Miller went to Minnesota, Boldy and Rossi would not be part of the return. As much as you want them, and don't want to move Miller, neither of them would be part of a Miller deal.

Well op asked what the vaule is so that's what i am giving, That package simply doesn't get a guy that scored 72 points last year who was above a point per game plus a good locker room guy with a great contract, it would take a massive overpayment for Van to listen so That's where the package starts anything less Van has zero interest in

You are really talking about a guy whose -5 on the tear & has 24 points. Only 9 goals

Kaprizov, fiala, Joel Eriksson Ek have more goals

Kaprizov & fiala have more points

Zuccarello who missed significant time to start season is tied with Miller in goals, & 2 points behind him

It's not the year for MN to make an all in move with their futures. It's really not the time to trade with VAN while they are in the middle of a COVID stoppage.

I like Miller and think he'd be a good fit in MN. I just don't see a deal that both teams would be happy making.

Here’s the thing though, the genius GM in VAN needs to clear MORE cap after that brilliant signing today. With Podkolzin coming up, Miller is a candidate to be moved and might be the best/only way to clear that cap they need. I don’t think you’re looking at Schmidt/Stasny dumps but you are looking more like the Toews to COL deal of 2 2nds. VAN probably wants to keep Miller but the cap may force them to deal him and that doesn’t get you a good return.

Right you mean the Canucks team who have all been not good this year? Miller has missed much time this year is well has been been playing without his #1 C from over half the year? right huh and still almost a point per game i don't know what you are trying to argue here the wild benefit from playing in a weaker division besides Vegas and Colorado

They don't need to move anything they've got enough space to re-sign Pettersson and Hughes

Even in a perfect situation for Vancouver, Boldy and Rossi type prospects don't get moved for Miller type players.

you do reazlie Van is not in cap hell once millers contract is up we have 17 millon to sign pettersson and hughes miller wont moved your more then likely going to see a virtanen buy out at most, Podkolzin plays a different side then miller so dont see what ur trying to say, Beagle is more then likey done which is why Pearson was able to be re-signed i'd put $10000 that Van doesn't move a single one of our core guys for cap relief

They should, but you never know what they ask for. That Pearson contract was idiotic and it *might* force them into a bad situation. I can almost guarantee Benning is trying to hardball Petey and Q but their agents aren’t dumb and they’re working together. VAN is not out of the water until the ink is dried on those deals and they’re under the cap.

God no. My guess is this is about dumping Miller’s salary for a good return. I’d let Petey and Q’s agent rake Benning over the coals for a bit then swoop in with a 2nd and something else if I really wanted Miller. Which I don’t.

I brought up Podkolzin because he’ll be a top 6 guy. Regardless of what kind of game he plays, he gets paid 4 mil less. Next year is going to be tight.

Your math is wrong. Miller has 29p in 34 games (70p pace) this year, and 72p in 69 games (85.5p pace) last year. His totals would be 4th in goals, 1st in assists, and 2nd in points compared to the Wild players.

+/- shouldn't carry a lot of weight when only 4 guys total on VAN are a +.

His numbers in Vancouver also shouldn't be compared to Minnesota as if they'd be the same had he been on this roster, yet you did it anyway.
