LeBrun said the ask was a 1st + prospect. I don’t think they get close to that, certainly not from the Canes.

There is probably no chance the Jets consider that deal. They may have interest in Manson, but it would need to be for a reasonably realistic return.

Carolina can have him if that's the ask.

Needless to say, I'd be happy with either deal. But I think that Samberg is both too much and the wrong fit (I don't know enough about Ponomonoronorov to opine). I'm still guessing that Florida gets Manson.

Pono is a solid middle six center prospect, who matches the way the Canes want to play. I’d hate to see him go, but it’s the type of move I could see happening if the Canes really wanted to get Manson.

The canes have been noted to pay for who they want as of late, and he would really solidify that bottom pair and help clean up some of the guys that like to hang around the net that Carolina has had a bit of an issue with. It would be an overpay but with two playoffs runs at least under current contract for Manson it is one that could pay off
