Description
No sarcasm here, I think the Leafs should hold on to their high draft picks and top prospects and continue to develop within while adding key free agents. I do see this team reaching at least the second round, and I don't think Campbell's play is a fluke, he's just never had the opportunity to play more than 31 games in a season, and btw he just set a Leafs franchise high in wins in a row with 10, NOT an easy task. So if he can split 41 with Dreidger I think their goaltending situation should be fine. Kerfoot taken in expansion draft. Some salary left over to do something at the trade deadline next year and is in good cap situation to keep all key players going forward.

Looking at the market, I feel like they can improve the team without giving up much tbh. A second and a b prospect can get a solid forward and show the team that they believe in them. Do they need someone necessarily? No not really, but they should still add imo.

I agree, get a forward but at the same time, who comes out? I really like the squad.

I agree. I think a depth d couldn’t hurt whatsoever. We don’t want Marincin in the playoffs again lmao.

I think a middle six forward who can play in the top 6 would be a lot of help though. Someone for that LW spot with Tavares and Nylander.
Galchenyuk hasn’t been bad by any means. But if you can improve, you take the chance.

Really? You think Joe Thornton is deserving of minutes on a contending team? He should be rotating in and out at the very least. Barabanov played very again tonight. And how about Dermott's horrendous D-zone coverage on Perry's first goal? You can't imagine an upgrade there either? Gotta love the fan bois that think there's zero room for improvement here ... smirk

Agree in with the author of this poster. Dubas did a fine job in the off season, tweaking the lineup and signing players for close to league minimum,,,and they have been really contributors.

I would take Thornton out based on a pure on ice stand point. He’s obviously a big part of the room but I don’t know if he’s an NHL player at this point.

You just can't sit him. He doesn't ever cost you and will chip in from time to time. I think what he brings to the bench is vital

That’s what I’m saying, I know he brings an important leadership element but he is probably the worst player on the team. I don’t think keefe would take him out if we got a forward so it’s probably engvall unless kerfoot is traded.

Honestly Mikheyev could come out as well. For the highlight chances he creates he does nothing with them and he also just is never physical. Thornton just hasn't got points but he does his job well enough. Cycles the puck, and makes little plays with the puck a lot that go unnoticed.
