I honestly think Ryan is better than Bennett. I would likely not give Bennett his qo.

I am not convinced Bennet is better than bjugstad

Rask has more goals this year than Ryan and Bennett combined and he is a center; which they need. MN passes.

No he's actually not. Marcus Johansson has been better by miles than Staal

This is a comical proposal. Wild say absolutely not. None of this players are / will play on wild

Wild aren't trading their 1st round pick for these bad players wild don't need

Are you responding to the right comment? I did not mention either of Johansson nor Staal?

So basically 2 bottom 6ers for a bottom 6er and a 1st? Yeah, the Wild decline

On the other hand, Derek Ryan+CGY 1st for Bjugstad+Bonino (50% retained on Bonino) is something I would be interested in.

Bonino, Johansson, basically giving away Donato.... Unable to fin a real top 6 center in 2 years. The only good thing he did was to sign Kaprizov but I mean does it really count as a good thing?...

I don't like GMBG, but he does have the Zucker trade and the Cole trade as positives, also the Talbot UFA signing. I think Kaprizov would have signed for Fletcher, Fenton, or Guerin but BG gets the credit. The rest of his moves have been questionable at best.

Guerin is one of the best at his job. Not once has he clearly lost a trade. He fleeced the Pens in the Zucker-trade. He also has given us an actual direction, was the only one out of three GMs that was able to get Kaprizov over and has drafted / signed UFAs well.

I'll give you the Zucker trade. But, he gave you no direction at all. He's, in bad shape for the expansion draft, still has no effense "insert an actual center here", he kinda sold players but went back on his selling and started to trade for bad vets.... Kind of circular tbh.

He traded Luke Kunin for Bonino and Khusnutdinov+. Yeah, I'd do that again.

Staal was not good for Buffalo. Surprisingly even trade and they're both in expiring contracts

Donato didn't have a spot and hasn't done much either

Kaprizov was a given

Talbot has been great

The Zucker trade was fantastic

The Cole trade was a fleece

The Bjugstad trade was really only positive

And he got positive value for Dubnyk

I'm failing to see how this makes him a terrible GM

Not one bad extension

Also, he's made it so that the Wild's top trade piece for a top 6 C (Matt Dumba) already has a replacement in place

He cut out the old farts, and many of our old players now are UFAs after this year. Suter, Parise obvious exceptions. He made our team a lot younger for next year and beyond, this is a transition year. To see our new direction, you have to look a bit into the future. We are finally breaking out of the mushy middle, even if it does not necessarily look like that to an average fan not following the Wild closely every day. Yes, he has not yet been able to find the game-breaking center we still need, but has anyone else done that? The Jets have, but nobody else.

MarJo/Staal, Kunin/Bonino, and Donato/3rd are all lost trades. Actually all the FWDs he traded away this offseason are better than the ones he brought in.

I'm not giving him credit for Kaprizov signing. He was just the warm body in the big chair when KK's KHL contract expired.

Guerin is just riding the coattails of the team Fletcher and Fenton built. The only additions GMBG has made have been junk FWDs and Talbot.

He's screwed the future cap with Spurgeon's awful contract, Foligno's questionable contract, and Brodin's big (but fair) contract.

Kunin for 2nd (Khusnutdinov), Bonino is not lost (a win, actually), MoJo for Staal was surprisingly close due to Staal being trash and Donato did not have a place in our lineup, so we traded him in order to give him an actual shot in the NHL.

Kaprizov kinda belongs to Guerin. Fletcher did reportedly not even call Kaprizov's camp, which caused him to do an extension in Russia. Guerin showed the effort to actually get him here.

Spurgeon's deal is not awful. He is a top-20 D-man in the league, and would have gotten bigger money in free agency. Foligno's deal was a bit pricey, but he is such a good locker-room guy, fits perfectly into the bottom-6 and is an underrated scorer. I think that justifies it. Brodin's deal is more thal reasonable.

These "junk forwards" were also originally planned to be flipped at the deadline, because this was supposed to be a transition year for us. They do not belong to our long-term plans, anyway.

Donato (and Kunin) is better than Bjugstad, Bonino, and MarJo. There is his place in the lineup there.

Kaprizov's old agent screwed MN over, Fletcher went though him and he didn't relay any of the messages. After that Fletcher and Fenton both made Kaprizov a priority.

Staal just got a 3rd and a 5th via trade. Marjo (higher cap hit) is a cap dump MN would have to pay to get rid of. How is this a close trade?

In Bonino for Kunin MN lost the better, younger, FWD that still has a lot of team control for a pick that might one day turn into a FWD that is as good as Kunin. Bonino is a cap dump winger at this point. How is this a good trade?

If you say planning for the expansion draft that hogwash. Don't make those bad trades and you'll lose one of Kunin, Donato, or Greenway. Now MN could lose all 3 of them for a couple of mystery boxes.

Spurgeon is nowhere near a top-20 d-man. Seriously, has Spurgeon been worth his $7.5m contract this year? This is only year 1 of that 7 year deal.
