There's a big gap between DeBrusk who's been a 2nd liner for the past 3 years and Bennett who's been a checking 3rd (personally I would 4th) liner. It doesn't help the Bruins at all, they actually downgrade big time.

Upside, Debrusk is definitely better. But he doesn't seem to fit in the BOS system, and honestly, his stock has dropped. He's losing playing time to Nick Richie, so they obviously aren't that high on him.
Bennett is a guy who can play up and down the line up, and both ends of the ice, and BOS has a pretty short window to try for a cup again. And the diff in upside is the reason why a 3rd is going one way and a 7th the other.

Is Bennett better than DeBrusk? No. He isn't helping us, that's it.

You don't know Bennett then. He's the kind of player you need to make a run in the playoffs. And right now Debrusk is NOT a second liner. He only has second line potential

The Bruins need a guy that can score goals. That's not Sam Bennett.

Well, Debrusk isn't doing that, and he's not gonna get you a guy that can, unless it's a great package. You're talking him, multiple picks and another piece.

The Bruins shouldn't move him either. They would sell low right now.

agreed, but the window is closing and they need to do something. Bergie, Pasta and the Licker can't carry this team forever and like I've said before, the cupboard is pretty bare.
