Forsberg is a free agent anyway and Toronto wants Forsberg so i don't see why they would do this trade

He's still got one more year left on his contract after this year. If he doesn't want to re-sign with NSH then he will probably be traded next year. Nothing has pointed to him not re-signing though. This offer isn't enough for NSH to consider moving him right now either. If they want an elite prospect, first round pick, and another piece for Ekholm, I'd say they'd want more than what anybody would be willing to give up for Forsberg.
