if Amirov and York are being traded, especially with high picks, those teams should just attach another player/piece and get a much better dman than Murphy.

i think the NYI and CAR ones are fair. im a big prospect person and i dont really like Bokk.

Thats fair, I thought Bokk could find some chemistry with Reichal since he maybe coming over next year and maybe they could do good together in the AHL next season.

Islanders and Hurricanes seems reasonable. I don't think Toronto moves Amirov for that. Seems low; probably drop that to a 3rd and it gets a little bit closer.

But the Philly one? I think that one is off. I don't think it's that you're overrating Murphy because you've done fine with the other trades, so I think you're way underrating York. He's the best prospect of the four you've got here, and the pick is likely the highest of them all. That's a pretty easy no for the Flyers. They need help on D but not at the cost of one of the better D prospects in the league. Edit: I should add, not at the cost of one of the better D prospects if all they're getting back is Murphy. He's good, but he's not A-prospect good.

I would agree with this. York, captain of the USA WJC with offensive upside, maybe if theyre trying to win now they do the swap 1 for 1, but not gonna include the 1st too

Connor Murphy is the best defensmen on the Hawks, he's currently playing 1st pair and he's been doing great, Murphy is 6'4 RHD which is rare in the NHL, He's a physical player and can block shots, He's now an assistant captain for the hawks and shows great leadership, He's good on the pk and good in his own end. Murphy is also on a great deal and the Blackhawk's mangement highly value him. So for Murphy to be traded it will be for an overpayment (basically the Coleman trade). A lot of teams in the NHL would love to have Murphy on their team.

Isles have no need for Murphy, and would not trade a 1st and a recent 1st round pick for him.

I'd imagine both would be off limits if its in addition to a 1st. A second is probably more reasonable, but it's tough.

I mean, a good example is Nashville's reported ask for Ekholm from Winnipeg: they would want Heinola, a 1st, and an additional piece which is likely someone like Perreault to match salary. I like Murphy and recognize he's a very underrated D in the league, but Ekholm beats him across the board. I'd say York is in a similar class as Heinola, although I'm sure some prefer one over the other with enough of a gap to differentiate between them. The question is where Foerster fits in comparison; I'd argue he's a tier below the two D, but his performance in the AHL as a 19 year old is fantastic so maybe that's selling him short.

I think if a 1st is going to go back, asking for a prospect like Foerster or York or Amirov is just too much. They're young and thriving. Comparatively, Holmström is in his second year in the AHL and looks like a questionable pick (if he wasn't already from the start) and Bokk is only now fulfilling some of his promise at 21. It would have to be a 2nd or even a 3rd and I would still totally understand if a Philly fan came in here and said "nah York/Foerster is untouchable".

Don't really know why the Leafs need Murphy, and then how do the Leafs pay him 3.875m. That's the problem with so many trades for picks or ELC players, teams don't have cap unless they do another trade

In the Toronto and Philly trades, I orginally made a mistake by having the 1st and I reconize yours and other people points, and I edited the Philly trade

Don't really know why the Leafs need Murphy, and then how do the Leafs pay him 3.875m. That's the problem with so many trades for picks or ELC players, teams don't have cap unless they do another trade

I guess Chicago could retain on Murphy or take back Kerfoot but I always see Toronto AGM where they trade for Savard.

You’ve described a generic top 4 NHL defenseman. Would somebody overpay with a 1st for him this year? Maybe. But that’s an overpay as it is. Adding a top prospect to it is a bit gratuitous.

I’ll throw out the Ekholm ask as a comp and these deals are more than that. Ekholm essentially doubles Murphy’s point totals over his career so I’m not sure how an equal value is justified, let alone an increased price. Obviously you can think what you want but I’m not seeing it.

First the Leafs shouldn't trade Kerfoot. He's needed at centre, where the Leafs have four NHLers...but no more. Kerfoot is mentioned in many trades, just to make the cap work, but really unless he traded for a centre, there is no logic in trading him
Trouble with so many trades posted, folks just make trades on reputation instead of what is happening now. The current edition of Savard, don't think he is better than any of the Leafs 3 RHD? Yea. he would nice to have but at what cost, especially if the Leafs have to trade a starting top 9 forward or Dman just to make the cap work.
