dont think the cats would be looking to sell off dreiger unless its a return they cant pass up

I’d hope we stick with the current plan and don’t move any positive assets, just use our cap space for gaining assets and push for the playoffs at the same time. That way we get the best of both worlds as opposed to tryna juggle.

Idk if we’d sell Sorensen for a 3rd as that’s ambitious but i for sure would expect Driedger to be sold for nothing less than a 2nd and a prospect as Florida doesn’t necessarily have to move Driedger.

just wait till next season and sign him for free. Hes gonna leave the cats as lets face it hes always gonna be behind 10mill bob and with knight coming his days are numbered

oh ya hes gone either way in the offseason id bet, but hes been the cats best goalie and they're tied for first in the division. Id be somewhat surprised if they let him go if they're only getting a third-round pick back is more what im going for

I think for cap-strapped teams that might want some goalie help (im looking at you leafs), hed probably be able to fetch a pretty decent return with how little money he makes which would be the trade-off for not having that extra contract year. keumper is the best goalie available though have to agree there

If driedger cos a 3rd leafs would just do that instead of dubnyuk.

Calgary is not buying

Terrible for calgary. They arent buying they currently have the 6th worst recored in the league and even if they were Sorensen isn’t even close to being worth that much at most a 6th

I would keep Dubnyk for now and wait till the offseason to trade for Driedger. Cats will likely want to trade his signing rights so they don't lose him for nothing in the ED. If they want to trade him now, he's more valuable than a 3rd and 7th.

Kevin Hayes' UFA signing rights were acquired for a 5th rounder a couple years ago, so I don't see Driedger (who will likely cost $2-4M less than Hayes) costing more than a 4th.
