Détails additionnels:
Eliott Friedman said recently that the Avs are looking for a "Blake Coleman type forward", and Laughton could be a good fit.

Laughton is a pending UFA who plays a physical two-way game and can play either LW or C. His versatility would be an ideal fit for Colorado, as he can play 4LW if Jost carries on playing well at 3C, or if Jost falters he can slide into the 3C role and not look out of place.

Not sure what the price would be, but Laughton is a pure rental whilst Timmins is an expansion-exempt 22 year old RHD with top 4 ceiling, so it seems reasonable that Philadelphia would add.

I think demanding a good forward and a 2nd from a struggling team for a single prospect is too much asked.

I mean his statistics are absolutely similar to Coleman, yet TB paid two firsts for the guy. Not saying that Laughton's worth that much given he's a one year asset, but in a Laughton for a prospect swap, I don't think Flyers is the one adding.

Fair enough. Maybe Bowers for Laughton straight up? Bowers would basically be a younger like-for-like replacement for Laughton.

Tampa paid a premium for Coleman because of the extra year. If Laughton was signed at $2.3m for an additional year Philadelphia could probably ask for a similar package as Coleman got, or at least close to it.

Maybe Bowers+3rd? Flyers are loaded with iffy C prospects (Rubtsov, O'Brien, Laberge, Bunnaman). I dunno if Bowers would add anything to that team they don't already have.

Personally Timmins for Laughton makes sense to me the most, but with COL likely losing Graves to Seattle, and potentially buying Johnson out due to ExD, Timmins is an invaluable piece to work as a D replacement for these guys.

I proposed a trade a couple of months ago which looked like this: Laughton + Braun + 2nd for Timmins + Compher. If Braun would be included it would be easier to part with Timmins, for the reasons that you mentioned at the end of your post relating to the Avs depth on D.

Avs add a 4th and imo it probably works.

Problematic thing here is that Compher just might become Seattle bound, should he land in Flyers. They already have 7 forwards to protect over him.

A lower pick may also be a possibility since injury returns can be tricky for goalies. I wouldn't be shocked if the price dropped from a third to a fifth or something like that as a result.

Replace Compher with a pick then. We can keep him as a self-rental and move him in the offseason instead if needed for cap reasons.

Laughton + Braun + 2nd for Timmins + 3rd?

Still can't see the point of adding the picks. I'd probably prefer Laughton+Braun for Timmins+4th if I were Flyers myself.

Especially now when that 2nd might just be much higher than anyone anticipated.

That seems like a reasonable trade.

Week to week

For Avs fans week-to-week means that the player has had a leg amputation.

I jest of course lol. Avs are notorious for being absurdly vague about injuries, so much so that "day to day" and "week to week" have become running jokes. Colin Wilson was "day to day" all of last season before retiring in the offseason. Francouz was day to day and has been out all season.
