I'd be ok with this... if he doesn't figure it out, that contract could really suck having 2 more years left, but I think it's worth the risk...

He's 27?! couple years older than I thought.

I'd rather wait until he clears waivers (2 more years at 4.5M is alot for a waiver claim), then offer a trade with PHI to take him and his cap hit/term off PHI books for an additional asset (pick or prospect).

With only 1 dman on the left under contract next season taking a chance on ghost isn't a bad idea. His actual salary is only like 3 million compared to his cap hit. We'd spend that replacing holes on the LD for next year anyways.

Don't see him clearing waivers that's why that likely won't work & they've buried trading him wuth no takers so wings claim for need & plenty if cap now & future
