For me it all depends on team needs.I like to build a team like the devils championship teams of the past or this current islanders team. You need defense and goaltending along with grinders to wear the other team down and depth due to the fact that its a long season and injuries are inevitable. In the case of a team like the isles right now a franchise winger sounds awfully good. For both Buffalo and the rangers they are both better off keeping their guys. The rags have a lot of defensive prospects and Buffalo has a franchise player on the offensive side so what they need is a franchise dman. Eichel and dahlin can both carry the Sabres for the next 15 years if they actually put the right people around them.

He ain’t greater than dahlin but I agree that the rangers don’t need dahlin right now and they’re better off with lafreniere.

Dahlin has higher upside and I think having a #1 dman is way more important than having a winger, especially since the Rangers have many wingers
