How much for Gurianov and Oleksiak if Dallas sells

Description
Hard to gage, I know Gurianov has been a little dry on offence this season. But he and Pulju as McD's wingers would be pretty damn sweet, and cheap next season. Would allow resigning Nuge to play Nuge-Drai-Yam quite easy, and allow lots of cap space to keep the Dmen the organization feels it needs most, and perhaps a more expensive goalie in the offseason.

Waffled between Benson and a 2nd or a 2022 1st. Either probably fine (just remember the 1st is probably a later one).

Oleksiak (retained) is worth a half decent prospect and a 2nd.

Gurianov is off the table.

Edit: even if we were to sell him, Edmonton would have to pay the most because with McDavid, Gurianov would score like 50-60 goals not even kidding. Gurianov has close to the same speed as McDavid and his shot is one of the best in the NHL, plus he'd be playing with Connor Freaking McDavid.

I’d say Benson + 2nd gets you Oleksiak. I could be wrong though.

And I don’t think Dallas has any interest in trading Gurianov. Him + McDavid would skate circles around everybody though. They would be a scary fast duo.

Dallas should return and start building through youth. Gurianov's an important part of that youth, so no reason to move the guy.

Oleksiak for a 2022 2nd and we have deal...add a prospect if you want a retention.

As far as I am concern, Gurianov is part of the long term solution in Dallas.

But, I am afraid that Nill could trade him in a panic move. I am saying this because of the way Bowness is handling him right now and I am afraid of what Bowness is telling Nill about him.

Gurianov, with a decent playmaker (insert Zuccarello clone here), could score 35 to 40 goals per year.

Yeah I get the vibe he could explode in scoring, but may stay below his potential in Dallas without that really top notch set up passing center. With McD or Drai...his value could be amazing. But I agree, any thoughtful GM would be silly to trade him and not use him as a long term piece, definitely intrigued if Dallas fans are finding his current usage strange in any sense though...

Just one example of his usage. Gurianov sent this team to the SC Final with a terrific one timer, from the right dot, during a power play. He is deadly dangerous from that spot. One of the best in the NHL IMO.

Right now, he is playing limited PP minutes with Lindell as a set up man...Go figure.

He is struggling right now and that is part of the strategy by Bowness to restart him. This along with limted ice time during the game and OT. On top of which, he is not sending him regularly in the shoot out.

And to top it off, Bowness made some discutable comments about him in the media. Stuff about manhood in the NHL.

In summary, Gurianov is in Bowness' dog house. And that is making me afraid of a stupid move by Nill.

His usage is absolutely an issue, but that issue lies squarely on the shoulders of Rick Bowness. The Stars have a dinosaur behind their bench that doesn’t remotely understand how to run the offensive side of the game. The day Dallas gets a competent head coach is the day that guys like Gurianov, Hintz, and Robertson can actually start to realize their full potential.

A players price doesn’t go up because they may or may not be playing with Connor Mcdavid.. I agree this isn’t close to gurianov value but let’s relax here speed almost like Mcdavids with one of the best shots..? He’d have a lot more then 6 goals in a huge gurianov fan myself but let’s pump the breaks a little here

He had a shot clock in at 110MPH, and if you watch him play he's our fastest player. McDavid beat out Heiskanen in the all star game by not a huge amount (plus Heiskanen was more careful because he fell the attempt before), Gurianov is faster than Heiskanen and by a fair amount.

Gurianov is not being used correctly at all in the lineup. He's playing with a 3rd line center and he's on the 2nd PP with Lindell, who's a defensive defenceman. He's playing on a defensive minded team who're giving him limited ice time. That's why he's not scoring so much.

I know a players value doesn't go up if they're playing with McDavid, but players with untouched potential are more risky to trade than others. An would be example Laine, he has so much untouched potential like Gurianov, but he isn't being used well at all by a defensive minded coach, he would do bonkers with someone like McDavid.

You might not be waiting long. 11 wins in 32 games isn't remotely good enough. It's not like they're in a particularly strong division either.

The biggest issue for Dallas is that this is their 4th coach in 6 years. The optics of bringing a 5th coach in 7 years doesn't look great from an organizational perspective.

Personally, I don’t care. Aside from Montgomery, since the Stars let go of Ruff they have gotten old, defensive dinosaurs whose style doesn’t fit today’s NHL. The only person to blame for the optics of running through coaches almost every year is the owner. If it means getting a solid head coach in Dallas, I don’t care how bad it looks that we’re hiring another new coach.
